I was looking to make a couple tuts for to clear up many rumors/misconceptions about KF. I know all the tricks, tactics, skill tips, and hitboxes to deal damage, save time, and put on a decent show.

I need to know the following:Freeware and downloadable suggestions only please...

-what program should i use to record (or should i use the in-game demo recorder) i have fraps (free version and can only record 30 seconds at a time.

-what should i use to edit. simple things make titles, maybe a couple of arrows and texts explaining, fast forwarding...nothing to over the top.

-i have a few things in mind, but if you guys have any suggestions for tuts that need to made available...i will attempt can make them.

-i would also like to prove or disprove any and all rumors or things that seem to be misconceptions among the TWI KF boards...ex m14 = dissapointment, when it clearly is one of the best guns in the game (if not the best)

thanks for any info...look forward to some new vids ASAP!

Best way would be to create a Demo file while playing and record the playback later with a video capture tool. So you have less performance problems while playing and better controls what to record.

nice, is there any info on how to use the ingame demo recorder? i was using fraps and my framerate went from 45 fps to 15...barely playable, i did get a couple of money shots though, still have no idea how to edit them easily, i dont like media coder that much.

questions:

-When i record an ingame demo (using kf demo recorder) how do i review, edit, or change the video so i can edit it my way.

-where do the files go when i use the demo recorder?

-what would you guys like to see...im starting a frag montage now, but would also like to make some tuts.

lol 6 views in 3 hours since this was moved to the tech support section. (it had 25 in the first 15 mins on the general section...just saying)

ok the mods suck on this board (i said it)...u moved the thread from general to tech support. :confused:Why? i think asking where the demo records and how to use it should be general knowledge unless KF doesnt want fan material on the net promoting your game :D (which should be obvious KF devs would)...i dont get it, are you guys mentally not there?

THERE IS NOTHING IN THE GAME MANUAL ABOUT THIS! Even though it should be...also no updated perk info...

THERE ARE NO THREADS ABOUT RECORDING DEMOS! (i searched, 1st 5 pages...in search tool)

THE MODS MUST BE RETARDED IF THEY THINK THE GENERAL PEOPLE MIGHT NOT WANT TO LEARN ABOUT THIS STUFF!

http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=34387&highlight=demo

this was the closest thing i found to opening questions and helping me with this in the first 5 pages i looked through...

Also i have no problem recording a demo, watching it from the console and then recording it from there in fraps...i just want to know how to record. just another thing that blows with KF. Im starting to think that this game is incomplete in many ways. Much like the mods brains (joke) lolz

Seriously, mods have closed down simple topics, and moved my threads a couple of times...many people will never click on the tech support, but seriously...im not changing game settings here, just asking for general knowledge. CLOSE THIS TOO IF YOU THINK ITS NECESSARY...im just trying to help and spread the word for people on the thread... LOL

TOO MANY THINGS IN THIS GAME ARE INCOMPLETE, INCLUDING THE INTELLIGENCE OF THE MODS ON THIS BOARD!

DGAF!

UE demos are time based records of events, not videos, which is why their size is so small in comparison. Unless you can convince someone from RypelCam to port to KF (like was done for RO), demos cannot be edited.

The primary purpose of demos is to capture events. If you're looking to create video you'll need to use video capturing software. While you certainly don't need to create a demo to capture video it does make things easier.
