Comparing to RO1 I find the cover mechanics one of the most difficult things to master. It seems that it gives a lot of possibilities but it is hard to figure out.

Why and when to take cover (in stead of using crouch or prone)?
Best way to shoot from cover, e.g. around corners you initial place needs to be perfect other wise you focus on a wall ?
etc, etc.

Are there some tips how and when to use cover?

Is there a way to practice it (there is no third person to look how it looks like).

I barely use the cover system RO2 provided..since it got me kill countless of times...I just get in cover like any other games such as cod, bf2 you name it...

I only use the cover system if that cover is light, and it's obvious that I'm there..cause I have seen a lot of the covers are pretty short....not using the cover system will result of over-exposing yourself even when you are crouched,,,

some trenches requires to use the cover system because you simply can't see the ground level, sometimes you can't even aim properly without the cover system...

Thats like the only two times when I'm actually using the cover system...other times I'm just having fun with it..

Try to avoid light cover which is easily penetrated for obvious reasons.

If using the MG, go to C-mode before stationing your weapon and pull you mouse back when reloading to avoid getting shot. Although you can do this without using C-mode, it's very good if you should find yourself in a situation where you have to switch to your side arm (have saved me several times actually).

The above is also very helpful whilst you are using other classes and need to reload.

Don't underestimate blind-fire. Running from cover to cover and engaging the enemy as close and safely as possible is one of the key things to urban combat.

Try to avoid some of the obvious covers. There's often a rifleman/marksman just waiting for some poor tosser to blindly rush towards these points.
Use this against your enemy as well. Providing denial of key strategic points such as heavy cover close to the front line will lower the chances of your team mates becoming overwhelmed.

Use cover when advancing and flanking. A hidden enemy, is a deadly enemy.

Not sure if you needed all this info but there's always someone who do.
Cheers!;)

I've to ask about cover too - what's difference between green and yellow one? I think that red cover is concealment and green is very solid. Other than that I've no idea.

RED is you are in a cover that doesn't do much.......
for a few times I have been in a "cover" that exposed myself completely and it's a RED cover...It's only a rail in a building which is not really a cover at all..

But oddly..I never have been killed in that "cover" and not even being shot at...

My friend said to me hiding there will kill me, but guess what...I didn't die once the entire match..forgot to mention..it's on fallen-fighters..the axis side building

Just a wild guess, but...

Red - concealment that won't protect you from anything or isn't just big enough to cover whole your body (some body parts are exposed)?

Yellow - No cover from bullets that can penetrate cover (like MG), but you should be protected from lower caliber?

Green - Solid cover, nothing will kill you?

That would make sense. Is it true?

I was practicing the coversystem with a friend of mine the other day, and when you use coversystem to look over the cover or around the corner, you just expose not very much of youre body at all, around the corner its about half your head, so a very little target actually while you can see where the enemies are
