im sorry for asking so many questions but this has been getting very annoying. when i use shift and ctrl to move an object in the map it makes a copy of it and the original stays in the same spot. how do i move something without it making a copy?!

If you mean UDK as in Unreal Development Kit then your posting on the wrong forums.

i dont know how to change it so i was stuck with udk instead of sdk.

Hey Hamguy.
The movement/rotation of brushes and meshes is the same as in UnrealED3.
Select the brush by left clicking on it, after which you hold the "CTRL" button and then drag with your left mouse button around. If you want to rotate the selection, simply hold the CTRL button again, and drag left and right with your right mouse button.
