This tip can be summed up like this: "Cap it first and THEN clear it". What does this mean exactly? Let me explain by telling you a short story...

So there I am in the cap usually, waiting and waiting for enough guys to be in it so we actually can complete the capping and what do I usually see?

Waves and waves of guys running into the cap, into the line of sight of the enemy and getting shot up. Sometimes, I can see the same guys coming back for more, just running into the line of fire again, while I am still alive, in the cap, waiting to take it .

The thing here is, they are usually waiting for you there, motionless, and you are an easy moving target. Wrong tactic, dude!!!

You see, the best way to take a cap is to have more of US in the capzone than THEM, right? But you can't do that if everybody is getting killed all the time.

So here is the sneaky part ... get in the capzone and DON'T EXPOSE youurself to enemy fire, hide behind a wall or inside a room and WAIT FOR THEM TO COME TO YOU!!

This way, you will be the one in a better position to shoot a target that is moving, and also, you will put into action the even more sneaky part of this amazing tip ....

wait for it ...

If you cap and then and ONLY THEN move further in to clear that capzone of all the nasty enemies still in there, their spawn point has usually been moved back by the capping, so they will not be able to get support in as fast as they could, and you are MORE LIKELY TO HOLD IT!!

Thank you for listening.

Good point.

Another thing to remember is that by capturing an objective, you push the enemy spawn farther away, and bring friendly spawn points closer. This can be very useful, especially if you need more friendlies, more frquently, in the cap zone.

Do make sure to CLEAR the cap after you take it, though... a few Germans left in the Building B1 on Commissar's or in the buildings behind A on Apartments or a few Russians left in the Gatehouse can make life difficult for the attacking team.

there are certain situation where clearing the cap (as in actively looking for defenders kill) is the correct option. for instance, when there is a machine gunner slaughtering all of your stupid teammates that are charging straight at him. But in reality, if you do succeed in killing him, he will respawn 20 seconds later and go back to the same spot or worse come looking for you. Basically im saying that both options have advantages and disadvantages and there is almost never a 100% clear choice.

I always do that, I hide somewhere till we cap and then come out and shoot as dying just before the cap is my least favorite thing in the game.

Anyone else play as the Germans on Spartanovka and when all of you rush into the Gullies, you are the first one (or the only one for that matter) who gets shot, usually by the MG and then everyone else caps but you and then you get mega pissed?

Please tell me I'm not the only one.

you see this worse on mamayev kurgan, at the bunker cap zone (C). theres trench right in front of the bunker inside of capzone, perfect to get into to to cap the zone..

but the other night there was 2 of us continuously telling people to stay in the trench (and not to go into the big shooty hole with the big shooty mgs and russians with big boom sticks that you kill you as you poke your head round the corner) yet almost the entire teams did just that.. it was almost comical just watching them running forward then falling down, and that happened for almost 10 minutes.

needless to say on the second round the team listened to us, and it capped within 3 minutes! some caps require a clearance, others can be pushed with weight of numbers.. but those who know will do so and those who just want to run around no matter will always do that....
