how popular do you think the t-hunt style coop will be?

t hunt is what im more interested in. do you think fans will keep it fresh and keep coop maps coming? or do most of you and maybe even the developers think of the coop as an after thought to be forgotten shortly after release?

what im hopping for is years of fresh coop from fans as well as developers. something that will last like the original ghost recon on pc.

I don't know what the plans are for coop, but something more Objective based with more intelligent bots would be nice, for some slightly more cinematic gameplay.

ArmA has some awesome coop scenarios. Throwing that together may be tough, though.

I'd be interested, assuming the bots act more like proper AI and not like bots.

I'd love to play it offline as well assuming I get some sophisticated commands for the friendly AI.

I'm all about the co-op. A strong co-op mode is one of the first things I look for before I purchase a game. As others have mentioned, it can't simply be humans vs. bots. It must be more involved where the AI is literally trying to make smart decisions as a group in order to defeat the human players. Things like seeing the AI do a temporary retreat in order to regroup and possibly relocate to a more advantageous position.

So when I see that the developers are incorporating a co-op campaign mode, I expect to see a more goal oriented type of gameplay and not simply a bunch of unorganized bots fighting off human players.

If anything I think we might end up seeing more co-op maps than maps focussed around regular multi player experiences. Why you ask?

Well for a multi player map you need to find plenty of people to play your map, getting a 16, 32 or 64 player server filled with people wanting to download and play a custom map isn't that easy sadly. Ro had a lot of great custom maps that probably weren't played more than a few times total.

When making co-op maps people know that at least they can enjoy their home made map themselves with 3 or 4 friends. Actually making a map that you can actually spend time playing on it can be a high motivator for mappers to go for in stead of a big mp map.

It is in my opinion one of the reasons for KF's custom content success due to the the small team sizes you can easily fill up a server with with your map. Making it much more fun to continue and improving with new content.

Well R6's terrorist hunt was pretty popular, it's always fun to blast AI with a few people. I'm sure there will be a handful of people who enjoy the online co-op campaign just as R6 had people who enjoyed terrorist hunt.

The way to keep it most interesting would be to keep it from playing like any old botmatch, and give the enemy AI places to realistically hold and defend or attack. As long as that happens, it probably won't get stale for a good while.

Co-op popularity would depend mostly on the AI's ability to provide an interesting challenge, and if the AI is spawned randomly to keep up the originality of a map/mission.
Rogue Spear and Raven Shield have some awesome Terrorist Hunting modes, but for example the original Ghost Recon can get stale fast because it doesnt have random enemy placement, it gets predictable and predictable isnt good. Fortunately there are co-op maps available to remedy this, but some randomisation would still be greatly appreciated.

I love coop games. And it will be a nice change of pace, when you don't feel like playing regular MP. I think I've played more Terrorist Hunt in RVS than I played the story :)

I fail to see how a game like Rainbow six can be compared to this, altho R6 is an awesome series(before Vegas console versions).
