How many meters long is each grid on the map?

For every map it is different because the map grid is the same no matter the map size. So apartments and mamayev will have the same minimap size but the maps are not similar in size at all.

I think in Darkest Hour, one of the server mods will calculate approximately how large the boxes are. I'm pretty sure it's dynamic since it feels like all maps regardless of size or whether or not it's a custom map has it.

I've done some testing with the squad leader using the "Move here" commands.

Code:
Hanto 60
Guadalcanal 80
Iwojima 40
Kwajalein 75
Peleliu 50
Saipan 45

It might be a few meters off but I think it will be fine in terms of using the mortar.

Also, I hit the tactical key to get distances to SL/ammo depots/cap zones and use them to estimate ranges. Of course, the cap zones can be huge, so if you are able to use ammo depots they're less vague as far as ranges are concerned.

i thought it was 40 for each square because i measured it on iwo but it didn't add up on some maps; explains all those tks ;)

RtCW:ET had a hit marker on the map showing you where your round landed, this might be OP with recon though?

It would be better if there was a scale made for each map. It is simple to do and can be added to the map easily.

Thanks a bunch - this will be very useful indeed.

Actually, detailed topographical maps such as used by soldiers have a fixed scale and are full of neat little grids.

Your right. I use those maps. I really dislike the RO2/RS maps because they do not have an accurate coordinate system. I wish someone would do something to improve this issue.
