Hey,
I turned on the game, and tried practise mode on full settings, (stupid idea i know). And of course, with my min spec computer, it loaded, than suddenly i had to CTRL ALT DEL out of it.

Now trying to play online, i moved all my settings to the lowest, i tried doing one server, and its taking FOREVER TO load the map. I eventually CTRL ALT DEL out of it. Because i was waiting like 10 min. Is htis because i just got the game? Or something? How can i fix this? Any specific things to lower for the game to go faster? Remember i haven't been in game yet. I'll try practise mode on lowest settings (because i haven't) although i hear that takes more CPU.

Thanks,
And i'm hoping once i get into the game, it'll be good.

BTW: i have 512 MB ram. (512 is minimum, but it should still run...)

512RAM here too (256MB for VidCard, if that helps). First maps always loads fine (30-60 secs) but the second one takes forever to load and it's faster to kill it and restart then rejoin another server.

Specs:
P4 2.4GHz, 512MB RAM, Radeon 9250 256MB, SB Audigy 2 Platinum.

I am having the same problem. However, I am confident that I meet the minumum requirements posted on the purchase screen for Red Orchestra. I have a Intel Celeron 2.4 GHz, 512mb of ram, 256mb pci radeon 9250. I can load the practice maps and play the practice maps but for the multiplayer maps I don't load. Any thoughts or help?

I have 1gb of ram and it takes me 1-2 minutes....

I had only 768mb of ram when I played the mod and it took <30 seconds....I don't think it's a ram problem, but rather something to do with Valve's Anti Cheat program.

They ought to mention that 512 is REALLY the minimum. I'm having a very poor connection success rate. (about 80-90% fail.)

Atleast alot of servers run multiple rounds of play, which helps.

Really sucks that I can't get more RAM with this MB. (It has to be some special kind that costs like two or three times as much as normal)

I wish companies wouldn't throw BS around when it comes to system specs. I've managed to get on the first server I tried, now when I try any others I time out. It's like if you've got 512MB, then you've just been suckered because it will not work.

The thing is, it shouldn't take longer and longer to load another map after each round. If it does and it does, it's bad programming and can be fixed.

This should not be a ram problem. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE 512 ram fine. Unless the company lied about minimum specs. Which idoubt they do. It probably has to do with something else. For ex:

I can only play practise mode. NOt multiplayer. I HAVEN"T tried uninstalling some things to free up space. I HAVEN"T tried uninstalled java, I HAVEN"T de-fragmented my HD in... Lets just say i don't even know what that means. I haven't tried many things... I'll try it when i get back home, and see what happens.

I've tried all of it...I'm really getting pissed at the devs and I wish they'd give us some feedback already.

Same problem here, 512MO 6800GT256MO, putted 512 more and the game sudenly load lot faster (5 time think) and more now the game run smooth, and now i can use directx9 and have full graphics and resolution.... should have say 1GO minimun straight from begining , would save me 4 hour of tests... game is so lame on 800x600 on not directx9, game only crashed once for now, and report was about BOTS so anything to do with lag and graphics... btw, no firewall, no defrag, no clean up, no anything, just putted 512 module, gl everyone
