how do i make a map launch in the game?

What do i do when im done making the map?, how do i export it to something playable and where do i put the map file?

The map is saved to Documents > My Games > KillingFloor2, and then the Unpublished Map folder. How you publish it, I don't know, but if you move that file to the Killing Floor 2 Steam folder for maps, you will be able to play it in Solo mode. However, I don't know how you publish it officially, or how you host a custom map in an online server.

open <mapname> Opens specified map (Example: open Kf-bIOtIcSlAb, Mix it up)

Does this work with a rented server? or do you have to go through some additional steps?

You can copy your root map folder from unpublished folder to published folder too. Though you maybe need to create ''Maps'' folder first.

A more specific question I would liked answered is, how do I get my custom map to launch in-game?

If your map just crashes, I'd presume there's something wrong with the map. Are you able to find the crash error and find out what's causing the crash?

When the game crashes it brings up the bug reporter, it shows what the file is but I can not get any meaningful information (most likely due to me not knowing what I'm doing).


But I suspect that there is something in my map that I need to do that I have not done yet. I have been following the wiki and other tutorial maps made by TWI, but something is obviously wrong.
