You're a December nob on these forums though, and the old forums database is lost so you cannot prove you where there :p.

Reason why it is December and not earlier is because the old forums were still up and I didn't want to re-register... for some reason. I don't know...

I am sure there is a few people here, mods included that can vouch for me being there. ;)

Oh and I am only about 5 hours away from the TWI studios, I can so drive down there on a weekend. Does that count?

I believe I should be at the top of the list for a pick of Beta testers due to my sheer longevity here on these forums. And the couple of years on the old forum as well, when RO was still a beta mod. :D

Please!

But you still don't know how to spell 'North Cackalacky,' so you go to the bottom of the list.

And even if you DID know how to spell it, you persist in attempting to USE the term, so you're DOUBLY at the bottom of the list.

I don't recall there being an actual proper spelling for North Kacilaky. Spelled any way possible, so I am where I was to begin with. :D

At the bottom of the list, right? :D

Gawd. That has got to be my least favorite bit of southern jargon, even beating out 'Hot-lanta.' I'm from New England originally, but spent a huge chunk of my life in South Carolina, Mississippi and South Georgia (aka North Florida), so I love me some Moon Pies, RC Cola and Big Red. :)

Some of the more boring stuff we did in OstFront testing for the achievements system was - have everyone join allies on Danzig and run blindly into MG fire again and again and again until the lucky dude on the other side got his gold achievement.

The mele achievement testing made up for that though. :p

I remember gathering all the guys on a bridge in Arad so another player (Yoshi right?) could shell us with HE for an achievement :p
We'd all be firing at the tank with our puny rifles and pistols, and a second later we were pink mist.

The application will be on the website like it was in the past. It is not currently up.
I was wondering something else.
Would it be feasible to do a broadcast of a beta test for non participants, so we could get a look at the gameplay so far and provide input or would that be out of the question? :) Or would that be too early and could lead to too much negative feedback?

What time zone would the core testing group be located in?

Next questions are related to the core and extended core testing groups, not the 20k participants beta:
Would the beta be on Steam (likely)? Would there be a need for a signed NDA? How would I know or whom would I need to ask to be able to receive these to sign them? Or is it generally wise to wait for an announcement / to receive an invitation, not ask for one?

Also something far fetching maybe, but do you handle beta testing via a bug-tracker, ticket system, e-mails, TS or something completely different? Purely out of interest. I've mostly done bug-tracking/ticket betas and some e-mail style ones (writing Excel files was so much...fun :p).

How was it handled in Red Orchestra Ostfront (public beta)? Is there a forum I can check out the old progress/handling or are these locked to the test group members (or maybe deleted completely)?

I hope that is not too many questions. Reply to the ones you like (if you can, want and know the answer). Also after proof reading, it feels like I am some sort of beta spy, but I can assure you, that I am not. :D

Edit: Something I forgot to add: Are there community suggestions that you are looking into? Are there some that you want the community to evaluate further, but which are currently slumbering? Do you have any things you are not sure about that you'd like to ask? Some sort of pre-beta implementation feedback.

No definite answers from me, but based on past experience:

What time zone would the core testing group be located in?

The most recent - 2007-2010 - tests that TWI held for RO and DH were in the early afternoon, according to my local time, which is GMT-8.

Next questions are related to the core and extended core testing groups, not the 20k participants beta:

It was, for the most recent round of RO:Ost testing. TWI provided a key via email to a beta version of the software.

Would there be a need for a signed NDA? How would I know or whom would I need to ask to be able to receive these to sign them?

There was, but it was handled electronically, IIRC. I don't recall physically signing anything to mail back.

Or is it generally wise to wait for an announcement / to receive an invitation, not ask for one?

Last time, they made an announcement, and I sent off a PM or an Email (don't remember which) to the appropriate person and within a couple days I received my beta key.

The one for the 2007-2010 tests is locked for group members only.
