as a fan of RO and KF since they were still mods i would love to get into the early beta that ramm jaeger mentioned in an interview video. Where do i apply ? i cant find it on the websites. thanks. :D

TWI took down the old link a few days after the interview, people had probably been hammering it, as Ramm said people could still use it to sign up.

I beta tested for OstFront. If you're really interested in helping test for bugs, then it can be "fun" but don't expect it to be a sneak peak.

Some of the more boring stuff we did in OstFront testing for the achievements system was - have everyone join allies on Danzig and run blindly into MG fire again and again and again until the lucky dude on the other side got his gold achievement.

The mele achievement testing made up for that though. :p

Anyways, if you don't mind following directions and doing boring things repetitively and roaming ugly-ish unfinished maps - try to sign up when it opens. If not - don't waste everybody's time.

I think I tested for 2.0...or something, or I might have confused that for other mods Yosh worked on (nah I'm sure I did) - it's nice to see things as a WIP, and it's great to help develop something...but it's also really nice to have a nice polished product delivered.

After being a part of this community since pre-1.0 it was nice to be on the outside and just see a retail release come from everyones hard work.

I actually wouldn't mind doing that, if it makes the game better I'm all up for it. :) Being on TS with each other would make things a little bit less boring.

Actually, I would enjoy that. Sounds like a normal day in pub servers xD

Good point Koba, nice that you mentioned this. I'm pretty sure that most of people know "beta-testing" from Bad Company 2 or MoH game, where crowd of kids just start playing and scoring in ranks and unlocks. No offense of course, but like Koba said it's more like a job and following plan, writing reports, testing stuff which you might don't like it, than playing a game just for fun.

What Koba talks about are still mostly fun parts though. Trying to use every single feature in a game to make sure there are no bugs or exploits every time a tiny bit of code is updated is the boring part.

Its similar to grinding in a mmorpg especially as you do the same thing every time again. And even then plenty of things will slip under your radar, and pretty much you're responsible for not finding whatever you missed.

Trying out whether a new feature works is pretty fun especially when trying things with a big group over voip, trying out if a new feature didn't break something else in any possible configuration is the more boring part.

At least in the earlier parts of testing, you must really like doing repetitive tasks or really want a game to end up bug/exploit free or you'll get bored within a very small time frame. Generally you need to be a complete lunatic :p

I believe I should be at the top of the list for a pick of Beta testers due to my sheer longevity here on these forums. And the couple of years on the old forum as well, when RO was still a beta mod. :D

Please!
