There are portable radios in DH and they have never caused any kind of problem.
Really? I have completely missed that. I mostly play on the Jolly Roger servers, and as an officer I always find myself heading for radio locations.

That's because there was no teamwork, and teamwork is vital for a feature like that to work.Really? I have completely missed that. I mostly play on the Jolly Roger servers, and as an officer I always find myself heading for radio locations.
I really like the idea of a radio carrier, but on puplic servers it will hardly work.
If the carrier gets a HUD indicator of the location of the SL, and gets the same points for arty kills as the SL it might work.
An alternative would be the carrier is a (unarmed) bot who follows the SL.
He does not fight and his only purpose is to be in reach of the SL when he needs a radio.
If the bot is killed by enemy fire his body will lay on the ground and serve as a stationary radio - as long as the SL gets killed.
Then both respawn (SL and bot).
No bots in multiplayer please.
This will surely be in multiple mods, but it won't make HOS.

Why not? But there ARE already bots in mulitplayer game! The entire tank crew are bots if you have no human crew!!!
And the radio carrier would do the same like the tank driver, gunner or loader... he will follow your orders.
In Darkest hour currently the British, Canadians, and US army have use of the SCR-300, I believe the class is called "radio operator" in the info role.Unus Offa said:Really? LordKhaine said:They didn't see anywhere near as much use on the eastern front. The Germans much preferred to mount their radios on vehicles for increased mobility and range.
LordKhaine said:This is because it was only the western allies that heavily used man portable radios.
