As the title suggests, when I play as engineer I get exhausted trying to catch up with the tank, it's a pain having to walk around massive maps too

Yes, we need tank riding infantry :IS2:

Or a chance to get on the back of an tank. Like it was in Ostfront, too.

On Arad I use the building on german spawn to jump on a friendly tank to ride into the village. It was possible to use walls to jump on a tank, too. So I could sit on the back and use my infantry weapon.

Maybe in RO2 the climb animation could be use to get on a tank. No fix position (no weapon) We just need a way to enter the back of a tank without dying. So maybe 5 player could use one tank as transport to the frontline ;)

As Kleist said, you can ride on them, the problem is getting on. If mappers added ramp type meshes at spawn, it'd be easy.

I included platforms that infantry could jump on the back of tanks in Yak-CA. Train platform for Allies, and garden wall for Axis. AFAIK no one ever has used them, and probably never will with the server time it gets.

The main resaon that Yak-CA (awesome map btw) gets so little playtime is that the peformance is dreadful... all that wheat lags like hell. When i tried in SP experimenting with jumping on top of UCs though, i found it very hard to not bounce around when sitting ontop

chance of that is slim, tripwire could add a simple animation and code surely?

I think it's slimmer that TWI will add them, as I would suspect that the fact that they didn't is deliberate. As I often am, I could be wrong.

I think you'd have a better chance that mappers would add a work around.

This is great, although since 98% of the players don't know you can ride on a tank if you manage to get on it, the concept, maps and the locations you can do it need to be publicized.

I really like the map, unfortunately, I can't play it either. In MP, on both a full and empty server, my ping shoots to 900. From the flash screen on, it's horribly laggy for me. :(

Tanks only is fine.

Add a mantling animation for a friendly tank that isn't moving in the next update. :D

This would be such an awesome addition. I always loved the games where you could do this, because it gives more opportunities for cooperation between tanks and infantry. Would also help infantry keep up with the tanks to give close protection.

Shameless bumb. Would be nice if some dev could give an answer if this is a possibilty. It would make a great addition for CA maps.

Not to be a debby downer but this would probably entail a whole lot of work, since you would need new sockets on each tank model, a new animation for climbing on and off, new hitboxes for the each seat, and new sitting animations since it wouldn't fit very well with the UC sitting animations. I would think it would be better to just get a driveable Zis/Gaz/Opel or even spend the time on some operable antitank guns. Of course if they did any of these including tank desant I would be overjoyed.

No it wont. Infantry just need some objects to climb and then jump on tank, nothing else.

Or mabey just add the abilty to jump up on it, just like when you jump over an obstacle. No need to "stick" to a specific point on the tank, just allow us to crawl on top. Boxes etc. to climb on works, but they arent mobile, so the tank can just pick up a few at the spawn and thats it, no way to get on if the tank gets bored from waiting at the spawn.
