Just...wow...yet another example of the viral marketing trainwreck that is Homefront.

Maybe it's because I'm inherently biased due to my obsessive interest in the DPRK, but I don't think the atrocities of Kim's regime should be trivialized and then used as a foil for profits...especially when it's for what looks to be a subpar game instead of a book or documentary on the North.

Our gaming magazine (Power Unlimited, dutch, unsubscripe pending) releases all kinds of stuff for homefront along with their newspapers.
All rubbish, one of the things which made me unsubscribe, and all about how great the story is blablabla.

what a little marketing can do. Probably all mainstream gamers will buy it:eek:

I dunno, this might work to their disadvantage. I know I for one am tired of hearing about these stunts and attempts to grab attention, I'm getting a bit overloaded and turned off by the game even more than I was before. It just seems to me that they are doing this to raise sales count on a game that wouldn't sell well without them, and probably wont do amazing with them.

Agreed. This is incredibly lame. Their stupid PR does nothing but reinforce the notion that buying the game would be a mistake.

Sometimes it's just too hard to hold your tongue to avoid being flamed :(

I'm more perturbed by the language than using the balloons and getting them in the bay.

There is a point at which games should not model real life for entertainment. I think Homefront crossed that point.
