A new feature called 'instinct' that allows you to see enemy paths and highlights them through walls. Well that's another series raped into oblivion. :)

You guys are unbelievable.
How? Hitman was playing as David Bateson in a murder based puzzle game where you needed to figure things out whilst Jesper Kyd played in the background. Granted it could just be the fits mission but what makes this Hitman?

What made the first mission in Blood Money hitman then? You've seen ONE mission. If every mission goes like this THEN you can complain.

No, we CAN complain about features like the magical ability to see through walls and AI tracks. These features will be with the player every waking moment of the game, and they clearly demonstrate a move away from brain power (something the series has always been about) to the dumbed-down lameness akin to recent Splinter Cell titles.

The game lost me when that "instinct view" appeared, it even shows enemy waypoints ffs. Maybe it could be disabled at higher difficulty levels, but they may also pull a TWI on us.

it is optional ffs. If you hate on the game because it's friendly to new players on EASY setting then you don't have a problem with the game but a problem with yourself and should see a therapist.

Problem is you're assuming everything will turn out great when pretty much all evidence so far suggests otherwise. Developers rarely if ever showcase a feature in promo videos if they don't intend it to be a core new feature. Same thing with assuming the "on rails" gameplay video is just a tutorial. It wasn't just a cinematic for "wow factor". It was actual programmed gameplay. The developers have even said there are a number of sequences like this. You don't generally see devs promote their game with gameplay that isn't indicative of the final product, especially when they know such stuff will piss off the core base. Plus getting rid of the iconic voice actor and composer? It all bodes rather bad so far. Of course, I hope you're right and I'm wrong cause I love me some hitman games.

Nope, the thing is that I don't concentrate my entire gaming life on hating everything.

We have seen one level, which appeared rather scripted/on rails. FACT.
We have only seen one level. FACT.
Hitman: Blood Money had a similar tutorial level. FACT.
We do not know if the showcased level is a tutorial level like that. FACT.
We do not know it isn't except if a Dev actually said that and I missed it. FACT.
It has been confirmed that the higher the difficulty level you choose, the fewer instinct points you have and that at least on expert you have none at all. FACT

Besides there always was a map that pretty much showed you the guards positions and paths anyhow but in 2d, now you see it in realtime. I don't like the idea either but imo it's not such a big deal and I know that I for one simply won't use it.

So should you be careful? Sure. But completely exaggerate and condemn the game after the small gameplay vids of ONE mission, whose full relevance we don't even know yet? Nope, that's just the usual crying here.

As for the voice actor, I personally don't care much because to me #47 never appeared to talk much, but I can see how it might upset people.

Still, everything else of this drama here is completely exaggerated. Wait until you see at least one other level. If it's just as on-rails then feel free to hate on, but until that moment I at least will be mature enough to withhold my judgement.

Why do developers keep dumbing down their games so God damn much?
Stupid casuals are ruining the experience for everybody.
Hitman was allways supost to be hard and make you use your dipstick.
Having X-Ray vision is just plain casualization.
As I have said before, there is no thrill in completing something easy.
The massive '**** yeah I'm the best' feeling you get when doing something very hard - nearly impossible is what gives you true satisfaction and porpouse.

IO can shove a fiber-wired glove up their poop hole because I'm not touching this thing seeing how blatanly dumbed down it is. It's Hitman for God's sake, not Splinter Cell.

The problem is a stealth game without any meaningful stealth (or even suspense) is like playing Batman game where the focus is on playing hopskotch, or watching porn without any ****ing involved. It just might be very well done as there's always the benefit of doubt and even more so if I would end up being wrong but unless they can read minds and in case of Batman : The Hopskotch edition they better be sure to make it the best hopskotch simulation out there. People still wouldn't be exactly convinced.

OK, critiquing time for the walkthrough! (quite long so bear with me)

2:10 WTF is this!? why is there an automatic easy mode? The whole point of Hitman is trial and error, why are they doing this?

Starting 4:40: Agent 47 starts repeatedly killing police officers*, does this mean that the entire "Silent assassin" aspect has gone, where repeatedly killing non-crucial NPC's without valid coverup was punished upon?

5:05 and 6:30: Oh look conveniently placed items when you need it no more needing to explore the level in order to find what you need we put it right there for you!!! What's that? You need more assistance? Well how about we refer to a possible way to our own demise, no more need for that thing called "observational skills" that were oh-so-necessary in the older games, we'll just guide you though the game.

5:51 "This guys a highly trained assassin who could kill you in an instant" "But when my friend goes missing I completely disregard his disappearance and turn my back to it and act oblivious" So much for the hope of improved AI

6:48: BULLSH*T!!! how do you fall two stories and not make a single noise!? No screaming? No loud thud when you hit the ground? Or is it so common to see falling police officers that it's disregarded as a common occurrence?

9:14 Did he just shrug of a bullet at point blank!? does this mean Regen health? Why would you put regen health in a game like Hitman? It's exactly opposite to what you want, you get punished for mistakes! Now you can just CoD your way in and out, nice work SqEnx <.<

thoughout the vid, most predominant at 10:17 onward: Oh look, unskippable cutscenes and long linear corridors, well if FF:13 did it so well why doesn't Hitman join in to?

11:40 (also throughout the vid), "lets take a look at this wall" mentality, now I know the AI in the previous HM games weren't the sharpest knives in the draw, but this AI seems DELIBERATELY dumb, the one biggest thing we wanted outta previous HM games was smarter AI, and they give us DUMBER AI ON PURPOSE, WTF!?!?

12:50 onwards, OK actually the whole hippy was quite hilarious. especially beating up police-men with a hash bong while the stoners stare at you gawk-eyed. That actually got a chuckle out of me.

14:21 OK what the hell is this? How is he making people unsuspect him by looking even more suspicious? And does that mean that the certain AI that could see though discuses like in the pervious game are just fooled by a single button? No need to rethink your strategy?

*P.S could someone tell me why it is alright for games to murder innocent police officers in cold blood, but when a game like MoH 2010 come out, Government officials start up a ****storm about having soldiers die in certain battle because "It could be offensive to others" and subsequently, have them banned from certain areas?

The gameplay looks extremely scripted. The gaurds have defined pathways and are placed in comfortable places from the player aswell as the clutter, such as tables and such, which are placed at very obvious places. For instance the statue, which happens to be placed close to a gaurd - which happens not to see you. All this so you can smash the gaurd in his head with the statue. It feels like a tunnelshooter were you're supposed to go in one way. Not to mention this highly retarded xray vision and your ability to spot enemies on a magical radar.

All this, including no David Bateson and Jesper Kryd, made me cancell my pre-order. I dont want another OFP DR / RO2.

This is way out of the whole hitman concept which is about stealth, freedom and pure skill, not pre-defined pathways, restricing mission design and retarded AI.

Uh oh, like TWI, they "want to cater to all kinds of players".

I predict a dissapointed fanbase (inculding myself) and the mainstream still not taking notice, and the end of a once great franchise.

I for one don't really care for a hardcore mode, if the levels are too linear, and from what we've seen so far, there's nothing indicating huge open environments.
