I love Blood Money, I didn't like the previous games so much as the stealth just didn't work for me, I got the impression I was supposed to run and gun or something.

Blood Money was perfect though, can't wait for this.

I enjoyed parts of the original Hitman and Blood Money, haven't played Hitman 2 or Contracts.

The story never really grabbed me, just skipped the cut-scenes as quickly as possible. Some nonsense about about agency conspiracies, super bred humans yawn yawn yawn. I would have preferred to play a regular hitman with more morally ambiguous contracts and choices rather than just dealing death to criminals and other agents.

Also I had the misfortune to see the Hitman film which took the already diabolical back story and somehow made it worse :p

Nice, good news indeed. I loved Bloody Money. The other games were pretty good as well but Blood Money was a big leap forward. Had good replay value too.

I can't explain why, but there's something very stylistic about the Hitman series.

I think Blood Money is the best one, Hitman seems to be the only thing IO interactive can get right...actually Freedom Fighters wasn't terrible...

Will be interesting to see what they do with it.

Yeah, lets hope Kane & Lynch were an exception rather than the new norm, I don't think I could forgive IO turning Hitman into a cover-based shooter with regenerating health.

Holy series resurrection.

I think I only finished Blood Money, I really can't remember. I enjoyed the game decently enough, I'd be interested in seeing what the next installment is like. Never quite got hooked on Hitman to the degree other people did.

I did however love the mission in the club where've got to neutralize a dude's body guards before you go after him. That kind of sand-boxy assassination stuff was great.

The clearing out a warehouse full of dudes without making a sound, not so much.

I own and have played all previous Hitman games.
Out of those, i'd say Contracts and Blood Money were the best in terms of functionality and stealth mechanics. Contracts' revival of several older missions from the previous two games were pretty awesome.

Somehow though i have to say i enjoyed Hitman 2 the least, because it was simply impossible to sneak up to somebody who was moving around (and there were almost NO static guards, which isnt a bad thing, but gets worse when you cant approach them to take them out).
I very much enjoyed trying to take every guard out without getting detected in Hitman 1, so that was a bummer. Also the score system which rated you and gave you a rank for each mission kind of turned me off from my style of playing that i had developed in Hitman 1, and i rather disliked it in every other entry as well, though i can see why many people would love it.
For me though it simply made me feel bad when i tried to kill all the guards because i'd get ranks as 'deranged lunatic' or whatever, while that was the most fun to do.
Blood Money's newspapers were pretty awesome though.

Anyways, i'm kind of weary about this new Hitman.
When that movie came out (which was an absolute abortion cradled in filth) there were rumours that the next Hitman game was supposed to be more similar to the movie.
Apparently that was also the reason why they made #47 die in Blood Money (even though there was the possibility to revive him via an easteregg so you could shoot everybody at the wedding). At least, that was speculated about.
Several newsposts quoted devs saying:

The revival at the funeral was the canonical ending. Diane used the same fake-death poison that you used to sneak the CIA agent out of the rehab place.

I just finished Blood Money a while ago and in the ending scene the reporter had the tape recorder with a lot of clues/information in it and 47 didnt know about it so you could speculate how that affects the storyline in the next game.

That been said, the trailer is pretty lame imo.

The Hitman series is one of my favorites. I've played through all of the games and enjoyed them, some more than others.

I really hope they don't dumb it down too much and turn it into some generic action shooter.
