I'm gonna just mention this so that its out there, even if this seems quite obvious for the devs to take a look at eventually. Three small suggestions for how the scoreboard can be better.

* Highlighting your on row on the scoreboard would be nice so that you can easily find yourself instead of having to spend a good amount of time on it. (Most games do this the same way by lighting up the background and/or playername). Give a unique color so that you know it is you, kinda similar to how the commander shows up as orange you could have a color that is always you on the scoreboard.

* Maybe a dead icon or something more optimal to show that someone is dead sure it says (dead) but place it in a column of its own so that it is more structured at least.

* Headlines/Colors. If you look at the left bar you've a spawn queue but it is kinda annoying to distinguish the headline that is called "Spawn queue" and the one showing the timer since they've the same color & font as all the player names below.

I also think your chat text (or at least important text, like the commander's) should appear as coloured instead of the usual white. It's hard to decipher what's spam and what's important.

I almost think that squad text should appear on the bottom of the screen instead of the side. In RO1 (not sure about 2), the names of the tank crew appeared on the bottom, and I thought it would be nice that any text from those members appear next to their name so we know who exactly it's from (commander especially). If I'm not paying strict attention to the side, any pertinent information scrolls off screen too quickly due to all the crap chat, and I miss important stuff from squad mates.

True,
Tho, if it rolls by quickly and you know its important you can bring up the console and check the log.

I was going to sign this, but frankly... some part of me feels like highlighting a personal player score almost encourages the whole CS player "I AM THIS TEAM BECAUSE I HAVE THE MOST KILLS" mentality. I honestly wouldn't care if individual player scores weren't even shown, but making individual scores even more important than they already are is something I don't feel is an attractive direction to take.

Edit: To lend a bit more precision, though, I see nothing wrong with it in Firefight mode as the entire point is to kill the most guys. But to be honest in such a tactical, team-based game, it wouldn't bother me at all to not even show individual scores and instead just have "MVPs" at the end of the round. Not saying I want Tripwire to do this, I'm just saying I would rather that than more emphasis on player score.

personally i don't find the game half as interesting without keeping tabs on points/kills/deaths.

i want to get better, and if i can recognise and emulate the top-scoring players then i'm going to improve.

you don't improve by thinking you're being 'ace' in a TDM game, totally oblivious to the fact that you have 5 kills and 25 deaths... flushing your team down the toilet with your net -200 score :p

I agree a system like this needs to be added and I like the idea of high lighting important chat too.

Agreed. It is frustrating to have to scan through the score screen trying to figure out where I am and how I am doing.

As for the chat? I don't read any of the chat, ever. A hard time trying to just not let it be so distracting. It keeps spamming the same messages (thousands of times!) on welcome to this server, recruiting to clan, don't tolerate idiots, teamspeak server here. Sometimes other random messages by people. I am looking for a way to remove it from the UI as it would improve my gameplay experience a good deal.
