I concur with Steven and BS, another year+++ for a game that a forum was made for a great while ago, is a joke.

Why are the devs so secrative about freely viewable information from offical sources . . . the lack of communication about things is whats peeving people. If you said 'Hey we are working on something but it will take time . .this is screen short of a pre-alpha texture of a stone wall' we would be more loving.

As it stands, the clan community simply wont survive, its a fact. All but 2 or 3 clans play at an actual competitive level, the rest scrap it out for 3rd place.

Public play is disgusting with 50 players servers . . that maps were not designed for . . and some very stupid server admins adding wierd stuff, that I dont want to spend 30 mins dl'ing before I join the game. . .

The HoS forums will have been in existance for 28 months come the 'possible' game release time . .. when you release the forum do you expect all the forum lovers to hang about for 28 months speculating on a few screenies?? The game engine is already getting old, leaving it too late will mean the game is outdated before its release. . . bc2 has set the bar very very high!

Just take a break from all things RO until things pick up again. It's too frustrating checking this forum everyday to see no updates and only vague info.

But really it's TW that should be doing more for the community that supported them all they way...

As much as I'd like to be playing the game now, it is infinitely more important to me that the game is done properly first, so however long they need to complete it is fine with me.

TWI can only go as fast as they can go, plus there should be new DH update very shortly to tide us all over until HOS lands, so lets all take a nice big deep breath, kick the dog and get back to waiting :)

Really, come on guys. It hasn't even been four weeks since we last put out a blast of PR information with new screenshots, map info, gametypes, etc. Yet several of you are talking like its been two years since you got any information. Game development isn't like building a house. It is a creative process, an art form. Developing games (at least good games), is an iterative process. Good developers will keep working on a game and iterating on it until its good enough to release. We could shove something out the door, but we'd really like to get it right this time. Also, if we give you a date, and then we miss that date, everyone on these forums will be up in arms.

So I say, please be patient. When we're comfortable with a release window, we'll make it public. And as we get closer to beta and release, you'll have more ROHOS information than you can shake a stick at. Oh, and the release date on the 1C site didn't come from us. Q2 2011 is NOT anything official from us, and we're developing the game.

Hear, hear.

People are so impatient. There are plenty of games that they can play in the meantime. I'd rather be playing RO:HoS tomorrow rather than next year just as much as the next guy, but it's not like I'm disappointed every time I check the forums because I know that TWI aren't ready to announce a release date yet.

Maybe in a couple of months there will be a new interview with screenshots. Or not, who knows? All we know is that they're working on the game. We should be thankful for the info and screens that they sparingly release.

The point I was making was the publisher posting Q2 2011 and not a word from TWI (either to agree to deny).
I appreciate it takes a long time to develop a solid product, but one or two carefully placed words now and again can keep even the grumpiest RO fans happy.

All I was looking for was a flat out answer telling us RO will be released in 2010 and not Q2 2011, which is quite frankly depressing :|

Thanks for that info.

But still you miss my point.

Game publisher posts a release window
TWI says nothing
cue some rants on forums

I know what its like being involved in projects and giving out false deadlines etc, but surely telling us the publishers are talking bs would be useful?

I don't think any member of the RO community would want to play an unfinished game.

We have all seen the disastrous consequences of such releases in recent years.

Let TWI give us a game that both they and we can be proud of.

All good things come to he who waits..;)

Reading is fun is it not?

Probably because TWI is so small they can't plan that well ahead and don't have the manpower or evil publisher in their back which makes them head for a dead line. On the bright side we will get quality work and I am pretty sure they announce a release date (when they are ready) and a month later it will be out :)

just release the game today, and then fix it with patches, thats what everybody does nowadays... or better yet: don't fix it, just sell it at 80

at least i dont have to listen to the whole, "stupid KF is holding up my precious HoS!", if anything the back of HoS should say, "Brought to you by KF!"

Umm, isn't that what I just did? You guys found out about the post on 1C's site the same way we did, through a rant on the forums ;) They didn't tell us "hey TWI, we're thinking about putting a made up release date on our website, do you guys mind?" As soon as WE saw it on their site, we posted here giving you the real deal.

well these latest "official statements", while appreciated, don't really answer the real question that was raised..... essentially we are told "don't believe 1C's guestimate for a release date because only we know the date". that statement doesn't reveal anything new aside from further confirming that we should not use 1C's website as a reliable source. :p

since people implied it, but didn't specify, here's what the real question is that people wanted to see an answer to: will the game come out in 2010?

a simple Yes/No answer is all people are looking for and really, it's not that unreasonable of a request.
