Now as far as I understand the system , there will be one player chosen as a hero on the team as a maximum. If you level up enough as a class you can choose to get to hero status in that class but that doesnt mean you automatically get to play as hero in any game you join.

Thats ok.

What I would like is that, any player can only have at the maximum ONE hero character unlocked on their account. Say, you want to be a bolt action rifle hero thats fine you can do that but you cant have multiple heroes unlocked.

If you want to say change your hero from bolt rifle to a automatic rifle hero thats ok aswell , but you would have to revert to a lower rank in that class and the class you just left.

In that way each player will have a class which defines the kind of player they are and will not be a hero in like 4 or 5 classes. The whole point of the hero system is to have a sleight advantage in a class because you are so devoted to it.

If I explain it this way, most people here have played COD 4. Remember how everyone got a gold deagle at 50? well I always thought it would be cool to have you choose 1 gun and 1 gun only to skin gold once you reached 50. That way it gives you an identity and unique quality from many other players.

I want someone to think " wow that guy must be an excellent officer " when they see a player as offficer hero , not " Oh yeah there s another nerd who is hero in every class ".

Welcomes to the forums glorious comrade :IS2:

I this is a good idea, although some people are good at different classes and some in one class.

Thanks guys.
I like the support for this , the idea is basic enough but it really forces the idea that your character is a hero because you had to work tough to unlock it and you cant have mutliples. It makes you unique so you can stand out of the crowd

I like this idea. While players may be excellent at all classes, IRL a hero is usually known for something in particular. Vasily was known for being a sniper. I would venture to guess that he was also an excellent marksman with a bolt, a mg, etc but he would inspire the troops the most doing what he does best, sniping.

The key would be implementing it properly though. It could cause problems if a player decides to switch classes halfway through the round, or if they don't play that class that time at all. Maybe one player is selected as the "potential hero" for the round and then only becomes the hero if they are the right class.

On another note, how would someone know if they are the hero? it could make a big difference game-wise if the person doesn't know that they are the hero and runs out to get shot...

i like it i like it however i like it what about whatever class you are when you earn hero you are so if you earn hero in battle assuming this is how it works, so if you are an mger and you earn hero in battle then you are mg and if you change someone else will be awarded hero.

Thanks guys. The idea may have been asked before but I would love to hear what the devs think about this. Lets hope they notice this thread.

Let's hope they do not.

I do not want to buy multiple copies of the game just to have fun with all the classes offered in the game.

Additional protip: Making fun of nerds while posting in an unreleased game's Ideas and Suggestion section is kinda stupid.

It's a nice idea, but it would force people to pigeonhole themselves into a particular role instead of just supporting the team with whatever class is available, or enjoying all aspects of the game.

+1, I don't have any one "good" class, I consider what will help my team achieve the objectives before all else, then ask myself which part of the map I intend to fight in when picking a class. In a persistent world game where classes have strictly defined roles I'd like specialization, but in a shooter where every round plays out differently and your team makeup changes all the time it just seems very limiting.

What I get out of being a hero is not someone who is proficient in a class, but just someone, a trusted competent veteran who is inspiring to the rest of the team.

So yes, I agree with SheepDip. Its almost like you are forcing a player to choose and voluntarily lock himself out of portions of the game.

This idea is based on the assumption that leveling a hero is a quick and easy task.

I myself like to play all classes available in the game, I wouldn't want the game forcing me to work in a certain direction to achieve that goal.

In other words, I don't want to worry about what class I'm playing. I just want to worry about the game and welcome all upgrades as they come naturally from my play style.

The chances are, that it'll take a while to level a class and become a hero for it, and even then, you are not guaranteed to become one. Putting more restrictions to it and making you level that one again, would be a nightmare, and detrimental for the team, because different classes work better in each map. I don't see a reason why one should be restricted to be one type.

This sounds like a system that belongs more to a class based MMO than an FPS with progression.

Which I'm sure it won't be. Given the vitriol in this community for the more commonly seen levelling systems I very much doubt TWI would implement something as shallow and straightforward as what we've seen so far in other games.

I'd expect that in order to be a hero you have to be an outstanding player, not just someone who's played x hours of said class or something like that.

RammJaeger also said that he was surprised at how fast people leveled their perks in KF, they didn't design it to be so fast. So I suppose, that based on their own experience, they'll make HOES quite harder to level up.

1 week to gain first level (40 hours),
Far more rewarding than the one week 55 general with 6 times the reset thingie.

Also I was not offended at all while I am a super nerdy guy.
Just saying:rolleyes:
