HELP: Trader Pod Rig

I am following the Wiki protocol on setting up trader pods. The problem is that the SDK will NOT let me link the skeletal mesh into the trigger Actor properties!

I have the dumb trigger unlocked, the skeletal rig selected in the content browser and I clock the green arrow and nothing. I have copy/pasted as well and it auto-clears my entry.

I cant link the dumb mesh to the trigger. ugh. Anyone know what I am missing?

Also, the WIKI says the lock is in the upper left but it is the upper right.

In Mission Mode
ok so this is a common Ue3 Issue, and your gonna smack yourself when i say the sollution.

Ok so when you select the trader trigger,
Open Properties
You see on the upper right a lock box, click that that locks the properties menu to that object. now you can select other objects to link.

Click the trader skeletal mesh

Click on the green arrow in the properties menu (should still be the trader trigger)

This assigns the trader to the trader trigger.

Click the lock box again, to unlock the menu, OR close the properties. done

You can do this with everything, this is also how you use the Attachment tabs to atach objects onto objects.

Ok thank you very much! The way it is described in the Wiki doesnt give that specific detail. It mentions the content browser to link the mesh, not placing it in world and then lock-linking. Thank you!

I keep getting "Failed to Assign SkeletalMesh", and to check the log, but the log has no info on why it failed to assign it.

i hope that helps you , if not i can post a screenshot

I did manage it with this new info. Place tradertrigger. Lock the properties. Place trader skeletal mesh. While mesh is selected, green arrow assign it in the open properties for the trigger.

do you get this when you load the map as a map error? try replacing the trader pod and make a new trader trigger from the actor browser

Managed to fix it, I had extra on the side of the map I forgot about and they caused constant errors with it
