I'm disappointed with it so far. The developers are several months away from a high functioning game. As it is I get massive stutters, low fps even with a gtx 570 ON MEDIUM settings, hitboxes are broke to ****, all axis weapons are op and they've nerfed several of them, PPSH has retard recoil, allies never seem to win despite what stalingrad was about, voip is broken still, there is no squad system that works, spawn is broken.

It's a work in progress. Will it be good in 4-5 months? I would imagine so. As it is right now it's what I would call beta at best. It's an ambitious project for TWI and it shows. Still, they are a reliable bunch and one day I'll eat my words.

And considering the amount of people (or lack thereof) it seems this game is going to be dead when BF3 comes out. I hope 3rd party mod groups can make it keep on living because it does have promise.

This. I'm damn picky about games, but people whining on these forums are generally not being fair. They expect perfection right out of the box and I've NEVER played any perfect PC game. Ever. You'll love the game. I certainly do, even with all it's flaws.

You people just do not get it. The dissatisfaction with this game is not based on bugs that we'll see fixed in the future; it stems from deliberate design decisions that Tripwire will never "fix" because it doesn't see them as problems.

Pick it up, trust me.

The problem with forums is that nobody ever comes to the forums and creates and account just to say how great a game is. I only created an account to post a bug report during the beta, tbh. If it weren't for a few issues I had early on, I'd never have come here. I've played RO1 and KF for years without ever hitting this forum up.

So yeah, ignore the complainers and pick up one of the best shooting games to come out in a good, long while.

I'd wait a few weeks. You may or may not experience performance issues (I don't, nor have I ever) but you will almost certainly get your profile corrupted, rendering the unlocks and stat tracking worthless. A few weapons seem unbalanced, as well.

It's a fun game, though. Keep it on your radar and come back when these issues get sorted.

Your list of standard issue cop outs is wearing thin.

If you have any sort of interest in WW2 combat, particularly the fighting in Stalingrad, buy it. There are bugs but Tripwire is good about patches and adding free content.

Awesome! Thanks for all the info guys.

I haven't played the original, so I'm not sure about all these nuances that some are complaining about. But, by judging from the Youtube feed and the positive responses, I might just download this this weekend.

You guys use mics while playing this?

Yeah. In many instances. But I know, I'm "the vocal minority," so it doesn't count.

Not what I'm saying at all. I know that I've never done it, and most folks I know that game don't do it either.

However, every change to the gameplay balance is going to screw with the folks that are used to it the way it is now, which is most of the folks playing the game currently. If they change anything about the gameplay balance, these forums will flood with "OMG Y SO MUCH SWAY RIFLES ARE USELESS NOW" posts. Trust me, play TF2 for a few months. Every time they introduce a new gun it's the most overpowered thing since the Death Star, and then everyone gets used to it and it's not so bad.

It's the same with the weapon handling in RO2. A lot of folks right now are claiming that their soldiers are super terminator robots with incredible targeting systems when they really aren't. Hitting targets in game is still very challenging, and there is still a great deal of skill involved to pull off accurate shots.

People will get used to it, and those that refuse to will find something else to do. I promise, it's not as bad as a lot of folks here make it out to be. I just played a few rounds and I'm pretty sure I only hit a quarter of the bullets I shot. I was upper-middle on the scoreboard just about each time. I wasn't doing badly, it's just a challenging game with a steep learning curve.

I haven't recommended the game to any of my friends. Told most of them to stay away from it, as a matter of fact.

Most of my recent time on these forums has been complaining about the faults of the game but I would still recommend buying it. It's a lot of fun especially if you find a good server to play on.

This. It's not a perfect game by any stretch of the imagination, but find a good 64-player server and it'll reward you handsomely. Plus TWI has had an excellent record of supporting their games.

I'd buy it if you:

-Exceed minimum spec by a good margin.

-Can live without completely optimized high end performance for now.

-Have a good amount of tolerance for obvious bugs and glitches that aren't game breaking.

-Are willing to learn by experimentation and trial and error instead of reading a manual.

-Want some of the most satisfying yet still fairly realistic gameplay out there right now.

Don't buy if:

-You are barely meeting min spec.

-You have zero tolerance for anything above.

-You have little patience for waiting for the game to improve.

-You're inflexible on what kind of realism shooter you're ready to accept.

I'm still unsure if I need to buy the digital deluxe edition. I can still unlock the fantasy weapons without the digital deluxe edition? The digital deluxe edition gives you access to these weapons right away?

Mostly, yeah. Bugs I can live with but the stats thing really takes away alot of the challenge for me. If you look upon this as a practice run until they reset stats (I hope) then I guess you'll be at an advantage than buying it later.

You can still unlock them without the Digital Deluxe Edition, you just won't have them right away. It's good that you're referring to them as "fantasy weapons" though. :D
