Hah, above nailed it perfectly.

If you can get to an easily deciphered fluency in English, most internet-goers (aside from the grammar-police/trolls) will not mind.

Thanks for the complement Swanky, and farther up:

I do not speak German is best said,

Ich spreche kein Deutsch.

sprechen is formal and or plural. Singular "I" would drop the "n" on sprechen.

Next, nicht is more equatable to "not", where as kein is more like "no" in regards to amount.

So, Ich spreche nicht Deutsch. I speak not German.

Or Ich spreche kein Deutsch. I speak no German.

But, of course, you don't translate everything literally. Both mean "I don't speak German".

It isn't a literal translation, as the both mean no, and neither mean "no" as in the sense of yes or no.

You wouldn't say "nicht" if you were trying to tell someone no after they asked you to do something. Or "kein". You would say "nein".

Just the same, kein would be the more grammatically correct way of stating that you speak no amount of German.

OMG who the heck cares lol :D. Actually I think both kein and nicht are totally correct!
Ich spreche nicht Deutsch is not I speak not German. "I speak not German = Ich nicht sprechen Deutsch" or so.
Naja wie auch immer, es mach wohl ausgesprochen wenig Sinn sich
