Well like the title says i'm a AA core player for it's mechanics, over graphics realism. Common sense it's important in a shooter. When i saw your videos my jaw dropped. The scopes the bipod system the whole freaking mechanics that just make sense are tremendous. I have not played your games yet, but i will definitely play this one. Good luck with that, we are waiting.
Enough of sandbox fights, enough of shooting while jumping, enough of rambos, enough easy...

As i saw your videos one question came to mind. The bots are for sure players place holders, but how will be the spawning managed. It looks like you will have a more Arma/OFP style with spawn points away form the action.

My suggestion would be to have also a Round Based mode at least up to 20-30 players, because it might not make sense for large warzones were reinforcements are always arriving with the 'company' size the game simulates (otherwise players would die of boredom), but it does make sense for 'squad'/'platoon' roles, where there is no backup. And dead is dead.

Best of wishes, make it shine.
Cheers

Welcome! You seem to enjoy the immersive mechanics in games like AA, you're cool :p

There isn't only spawning away from the action, you can also spawn around your squad leader, not right next to him AKA BC2. But maybe a block away or something, so you don't jump in the middle of his battles.

I also don't think that many people out of 64 will die, it any, maybe 8-12 people in the spawn queue every once in a while but I don't see the problem with it...

Player size is adjustable too along with the maps, so if you want to play with 30 players, the map size will be shortened to compensate.

Fun Fact: Ramm used to work on America's Army. I know he worked on the karma physics, not sure what else.

Well pal, I really think you should try the first RO before RO2 comes out. There might not be as many active players as a few years back did, but it's still the best multiplayer shooter out there in my opinion and there are a few good servers that are always filled. The graphics might be a bit dated, but as you've already pointed out, I don't think you'd care much. The game costs 10 dollars on Steam, or 17 reais if you are from where I think you are. You will not regret it.

Ahh well, that being the case, let me tell you sir (dev Ramm), AA2 is my fav game ever, and if RO:HOS goes like it seems, you might just being in involved in my, personally, next new fav game (being Quake3-MOHAASH-AA the fav line)

Thanks for the insight guys.
By the way i'm in Portugal not Brazil :D

Well yes, if not many people is dieing then having no respawn might be a drag. I just like that thing of: You got one shot, make it count!

Anyway, crossing fingers here, hope you guys not only deliver a kick-*** release, but also market it in way potential players understand how these type of game can be rewarding for it's mature community, teamplay, sense within a game...

Hoooaahh? :D

Should have quoted, sorry for that.
I meant the spawning on the squad leader; If I recall correctly it's only with firefight to keep everybody on the frontline.
(Correct me if I'm wrong)

Hope this will make my former post clear:)

I believe it's in territory too.

And it took some time for pedro.alpiarca.dos.santos post to pop up since his a new member leading to the confusion.

Spawn on Squad Leader is ONLY in Territory. You have options on where to spawn - "On Squad Leader" is one of them. If you pick that, you'll spawn CLOSE to the Squad Leader, assuming he is alive and there is a spawn point in a safe/out of enemy sight/out of gunfire location open.

Spawning in Firefitght will aim to spawn you "near" buddies, in a "safe" location, so you can team up and get back into the fight fast.

Will it be possible for a sever admin to customize the server to disallow any other type of spawning beyond the traditional 'spawn zone' we have in RO Ost?

..and welcome to the forum p.a.d.s. I think you'll like this game.

The Countdown mode is sort of like the round based system. You have one life, and only a few minutes to cap or defend a single objective in a series of objectives for the map.

If you successfully defend, you win the round. If you're attacking and you capture that objective, everybody respawns and you go for the next objective.

This way, you don't wait around for the next round for 5 or 10 minutes while dead.

So it is actually the traditional spawn zone where you spwn, but in this zone you spawn the closest to the SL?
Is 'spawning on squad' then not merely a misnomer?
Or am I reading it wrong?

I think you are reading it wrong... or I wasn't explaining it well :) You can EITHER spawn in a "traditional" spawn zone OR close to your squad leader. For spawning on squad leader, the mapper still hsa to designate all the potential spawn points - the game doesn't "invent" them! This way the mapper can make sure people don't spawn in ridiculous places.

Of course this requires the mapper to not be an idiot. So the ever-growing pack of people spawning in a closed room playing Station/Firefight last Friday was fairly hilarious. Briefly. Kevin...

Hey... I put that room to good effect! It had a nice hole looking out over the North part of the station and I racked up many a kill :)
