Actually, it's been a while since Paradox announced this, but I've only learned today. I'll be eagerly awaiting this title. Q309.

HoI goes 3d, as you could have expected after EUIII. The trend of having more and more provinces in every next title has been maintained- this time it's supposed to be 10k provinces. I've seen no word about the AI. Hopefully, this time around they can make it competent enough not to be too easily channeled into unfavourable situations. Other than that, see for yourselves:

I always used to complain about some province related things in HoI1 and HoI2, but in HoI3 it actually sounds promising.

Might put it on my "games you gotta buy" list.

Well IMHO, I still believe the biggest problem with earlier HoI AIs (atleast in HoI2, DD or Armageddon) that they do dumb things all the time yet it still keeps cheating, like producing **** over nation's IC limits and such. Good example about this is just to load a normal savegame, but this time select country played by AI as your "own" and check the production tab :p

Yeah, I have a lot of qualms with earlier games' AIs. Many (most?) people have. For instance, when playing my crazy USA-allies-JAP-and-flirts-with-Hitler-to-backstab-USSR-and-then-GER grand campaign, I remember encircling 89 German divisions in Bordeaux. And they never attempted a breakout, because I had circa 20 divisions in each bordering province (3, IIRC; Vichy France was still there and Ger never attempted to break out by invading the weak Vichy). So while almost all the Panzer divisions and the HQs were trapped there my corps-sized INFs raced across Germany like crazy tourists.

So there's stalemates and then there's the piece-meal invasion efforts. Then there's inadequade (because of its fixed nature) produciton sliders - not reinforcing depleted units in the field when having heckloads of manpower and adding more and more to the production list. And so on and so forth.

That's why they give you the editor with every game - so you can tweak the game against yourself. Still, I love it.

AFAIK he still is/was recently still alive, but doen't like to talk about hsi experinces at all.
