I tested this during the Beta. You've got to remember that changing this value has a geometric progression. The more heal points needed in a round the bigger the effect a buff to this value has.

I don't know how much 'too much money' is relevent to .8 per heal, but medic making money from healing would further support the team beyond just refiling their HP, it'de give them extra money to share with the group for weapons and armor.
How much more were they making with 8 instead of .6?
