Haven't you noticed the cheaters?

Cheaters are weak players who have to cheat to get kills because they cant do anything without them.As the hype of the game wears off and the servers get regular players somewhat of a community the cheaters will be less of a problem.Months after the release this will be a problem no doubt.

Most of these cheaters will move on when the next new game comes out.And the loyal fans that enjoy a hard core realism game cheating is the last thing they would do.Just like RO1 over time the game will get more of a cult following.And the server admins will know who has skill and who is cheating.

These sort of make me not want to play the game...

The answer is no, they don't generally detect them for a month or so, then the cheaters just update their bots.


And yes, COD can survive cheats because of its arcade style, but RO2 will be affected far more negatively by them.

Looks like the hackers have achieved what they wanted to, they effectively bullied you into being scared.

PB+VAC+Active Admins = Very little chance for obvious cheaters to survive.

Punkbusterbans will take in any legitimate proof of people hacking, and will ban them on every server that feels like using PBB. The fact is, cheaters will not survive, they will die on servers that have active admins.

There was one guys I suspected yesterday, had twice the kills of his nearest rival, and when he went into a room where I was, engaged four guys (me last) while I was unloading a 47 drum into him. Saw him enter, put about 7-10 rounds into him, no effect, readjusted aim, long bust again at close range, no effect again, adjust again, long burst again, no effect again etc until I ran out. By this point he had single-handedly wiped out the other three defenders and than did in me. My entire 47 round drum did not do squat to him, and I was shooting at less than 5 meters here.

Sadly it seems we need admins on servers 24/7 to ban these tards, but many servers have no one and there doesnt seem to be an option to kick people. Kinda ties my hands.

It's under your in-game menu when you press Escape.

Actually there is an option to votekick people. It's just takes a bit of effort to reach, because you need to go to the menu .

Im not computer tech guy, however I have to assume that one could find on you tube or the internet , whatever "code" or instructions these hackers are using and update it to some other software program that detects the codes use instantly. I know that RO uses VAC and PB but i do remember that certain BFBC2 servers had some sort of script detection software ( separate from PB and VAC) that caught all these things and instantly booted whomever was using it. It would say something like " Player so and so was kicked for multi-hack 005865" or something like that.
These hackers are very "proud" individuals and tend to post " How To" videos and articles on the web. Couldnt somone tech savvy just Goggle search once a week to see any new advertized hacks, learn them, then update the script detection sofware and PERMA-Ban every IP that employs them??
I love to see somone develope a computer frying virus that instanly uploads to anyone attempting to use a hack.

No, because evanbalance (punkbuster) is a terrible company that hasn't even updated its own website for years, looking at it is like time travelling back to 2001.
They put very little effort in, I'm surprised companies still work with them to be honest.

You can set punkbuster to autmatically send screenshots afaik

The hack comes with a PB screenshot cleaner.

Unfortunately, it'll never happen, because people who hack in games are the same bored people who tend to write viruses.

I've definitely seen some iffy stuff going on in RO2 so far, but nothing as bad as I've seen in Ostfront.

The absolute worst thing about cheaters are the accusations. Once people know its possible someone is cheating, they assume people ARE cheating just because they seem to be too good, especially in games like this, where death can come quickly and unexpectedly.

I do it too. Some guy has my number and kills me a few times in a row or in a particularly skilled way, and my first reaction is "bull****... what a hacking bastard!!!".

The fact is, not everyone who can kill you that easily is cheating. You can usually tell who the cheats are because they suck. They become so reliant on aimbots and so on, they forget that taking the shot is the easy bit. Getting to the point you can actually take the shot without dying isn't helped by aimbots. Wall hacks help a little maybe, but even they can be deceived.

I'm just saying that for some people, especially those new to a game like this, it might seem like half the people you're playing with are cheating... and they are, sort of. For many of them they have had years of experience with games like this and they know all the little tricks that unrealistic games like CoD miss due to being oversimplified. If you "grew up" playing CoD style FPS, it's like you are an under 18 amateur boxer taking on Mike Tyson for the belt. Given time, you too can be Tyson, just don't expect to do it in your first pro fight. In such a fight, Tyson would have so much of an advantage it may as well be called cheating.

Some people really ARE that good.

Yep. Remember, folks, that PB is not running in the beta (despite you having installed it with that last patch).

I expect that the number of cheaters in this game will be relatively low, but do expect ebbs and tides as publicly-released cheats get periodically updated and the anti-cheat software and server admins have to work to overcome the new cheats.
