true but the game is HALF the size of europe, literally... an MMO that size is bound to ALWAYS have bugs, but its an amazing simulator of... everything ww2. Airplanes, tanks, vehicles, infantry combat, everything.. I especially love rolling out a bofors at a foward base and shooting down enemy aircraft and just knowing the pilot on the other end of that flaming spitfire that just lost a wing is like (MOTHER *%(@#*($) lol

i haven't had many problems with the game at all which is cool for me i guess.

but some recent buggy games was Darkspore, at the end of a level or a chain of levels you wouldn't get your loot, game breaking for an ARPG and teleportrs not teleporting you to the boss there fore loosing you chance at fat loots.
Also Homefront, bought it on the xbox to play with friends, that crap sucked, could not get a multiplayer game for like 2 weeks. they disable multiplayer becuase it was so bad.

and any MMO

Bad Company 2 was pretty well screwed at launch, but then again, it was playable within 24 hours. ( for me at least )

Buggiest game at launch? No.

Most Disappointing? Yes.

Most disappointing FPS release ever? I think thou doth protest too much.

Most disappointing game release ever? I think that honor goes to Spore.

Gah, you know what annoying? People who keep saying that TWI should have listen and delayed the game at the behest of the "Community". Does nobody remember how the forum was spammed by people calling TWI a bunch of liars and how nasty people were when it was just delayed by mere fortnight? Now they moan about how it should have been delayed due the bugs...

As for buggy games, Boiling Point had awesome bugs like blowing up police stations with a crossbow and flying grannies...

Honestly, ive seen MUCH worse releases than this. Apart from the server list being buggy, a few optimisation issues, the occasional crash, and stats rarely recording, everything (atleast on my end) is working great. Almost all of this will be addressed shortly anyway.

Now, Stalker... THAT was a hell of a game launch.

RO2 doesn't "work like a charm" and I'm not going to felate the devs like it does.

Absolute praise is no different to absolute criticism. All these guys come on here and complain, and there is only a small set of actual "complaints".

First there are the guys who find out they can't play as well as they thought, and think that's the game's fault.

Then there are the guys who expect the game to be totally bug free on release day, despite the fact no game in the history of PC gaming has been bug free on release. Even the people that remember a bug free release are actually only remembering a release that was bug free FOR THEM.

And they all want the same thing - they want TWI to do the impossible:make them a better player, or produce a bug free game with a fraction of the resources of the companies they are being compared to, and even THOSE games are hardly bug free.

As a lifetime PC gamer I've grown accustomed to seeing buggy releases. Its nothing new, really. As PC gamers, we've come to expect to see games released in less-less-then perfect states. Its simply the way it goes for such a diverse platform.

However, its becoming somewhat disconcerting in recent years, generally in terms of the games which are exclusive to PC. I expect bugs to be there. However, I'm more concerned when a game gives me only 25-30 minutes of playtime before a crash to desktop. The release version of RO2 is certainly falling into that category.

I've done modding in the past and it can be maddening to find and fix bugs without breaking something else unintentionally. RO was actually quite terrible in the initial release, anyone will remember the hilariously (though obviously not "buggy") yellow Panzer4. Patches turned RO around in so many wonderful ways (too bad you can't patch a player base).

I hope to say the same of RO2 in a little while.

Oh here is one to list!

Freespace 2 had this odd bug where you could install the game but once installed it failed to read the disk and you was unable to play the game...

Oh another one. Bioshock took me 3 days to install due to faulty DRM. It was saying my CD Key wasn't valid despite me sitting there with a retail box in my hands.

Many games have buggy releases, that's the nature of game development and time constraints. That's also the reason for post-release patches.

It's maddening, isn't it? I managed to rack up 423 hours on BFBC2 by playing for no longer than half an hour at a time. At least RO2 doesn't do that for me. I also managed to have to reboot my PC at least 1000 times in that period, because every lockup was total and required a hard reset.

The thing is, EA are now sending me emails asking me to buy BF3, and BFBC2 STILL DOESN'T WORK. Clearly EA aren't going to be spending any more time trying to get it to work, so I paid twice as much for a game that does not and will not work, compared to RO2 which I have already got 50 hours playing the BETA.

I'm essentially overjoyed. This tiny company has done something even EA couldn't do - they got a game to work on my PC, WITHOUT turning into a pathetic console kiddy's "FPS".

Hell, EA should be giving me BF3 for free just to make up for the game I can't play but have already paid for.

I wouldn't take it though... I don't need the hassles and I can already tell the game sucks, just by looking at their PR.

BF 1942, BF2, BFBC2, MoH, CoD Black Ops, Brink, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, the list goes on and on. This game has minor issues in comparison to most other releases.

Edit: Had to come back and mention the REALLY bad release of the last two Operation Flashpoints. Talk about bad releases due to bugs. Couldn't and don't play either because of it, pitty since the original was so good IMO.
