You know how, during map loading, the game gives brief description of a ZED and a picture of a ZED? You know how the two almost never match up?

This brings me to my suggestion: sync the ZED and the accompanying description during map times. In this way, new players would not be confused and would know what the ZED being described looks like so they can look out for early and not have to find out what each ZED does the "hard way."

It would be nice, But it's not really necessary. At least that's what i think. Loading screens don't stay on the screen as long as they used to(unless you have a crap rig) so sometimes you don't even get a chance to read the 'protip' of the level.

Definitely agree. Back when I first started playing the game I was horribly confused about what specimens were called what. The only obvious ones were Crawlers (since the hint talks about Spider DNA) and the Scrake (since yes, that IS a chainsaw he's carrying. Nothing subtle about him). Otherwise it took a while to figure out the rest.

Admittedly though, it should be low on the priority list, especially if it would be more complicated to implement than we might think. But if it's quick and easy (like Zeron's mom), then I say get it out of the way.

(( Oh yeah, I went there. xP ))

I'd rather have some kind of small guide outlining the basics, and saying whihc spec is which. It seems a simpler alternative, becuase it seems like the mechanics behind all the loading stuff is a tad complex.

However, if it is perfectly simple, and an easy fix, then I agree wholeheartedly:)

So, in summary, I agree with WhiteTiger Shiro.

Especially the part about Zeron's mom

;):D

YES. It took me quite some time when I first started playing KF to figure out which zed was which.

Either that or add a little nametag above each zed picture during loading.

I also pretty much agree with Timur and Tigershiro.

I think this is a good idea, though it's also a low prior thing, compared to other things, they could change in the game, but that's another story.

(Just like Zeron's mom) *cough*

As much as I like Zeron's mom, I don't think this would be worth implementing considering the other priorities (like Zeron's mom) but it would be nice to have (like Zeron's mom).

Well, it all depends. I would suppose it'd be a simple 30-minute job to just change the text in the tips to describe the zed better instead.

"Gorefasts (red guys, blade on the hand, ugly) tend to live up to their name, so watch out for them speeding in toward you!"

"Clots (grey, weak, kind of a joke) are not that dangerous on their own, but they have a tendency to grab you, so keep your distance."

That would be a cool idea. It could be a new menu option right under the Achievements (since achievements are off on their own, looks like they could use some company) called "Specimen Profiles" or some-such. It could give a basic idea of how much health, speed and damage they can do without getting specific (as it varies between difficulty). For example, the Clot could be listed as such:

Speed: Slow
Health: Low
Damage: Low
Special: Holds player in place

Underneath that, there would be a small space where they could give a brief description of each specimen (such as clots being slow and weak, but dangerous if they catch you since it can allow for other clots to grab you, or let more dangerous specimens catch-up to you), perhaps even followed by the canonical origins behind them (such as Clots being clones of the Pat's son, and the Scrake being an experiment on a battlefield medic).

This would be good. Considering that the team would be briefed prior to their engagement of what they're facing, it's quite good.

Although in fairness, and I think I quote the original Killing Floor story exactly

"It came without warning on the last day of August. Cannibalism.... Murder... Terror gripped the city of London. Elite Disaster Response Force [DRF] teams were dispatched to combat a largely unknown menace. They were charged with holding the heart of the city where the outbreak had began. Now designated only "The Quarantine". The DRF COmmandoes were woefully outnumbered and uninformed about the nature of what they would do battle with..."

Breifing? What briefing? I say let the newbie lambs go to the slaughter :)

The briefing would come after they first encounter specimens. After. Those that survive would tell their horror stories to the newbies to warn them.

Man if i knew that making fun of my own mother would bring in so many likes i would have done it ages ago.

Yes. It brings infractions, but is one of those enjoyable things in life:D;)

It has become an inside joke for the forums ever since WhiteTiger Shiro began it.

And yes, I believe that it should be after they encounter them that they enjoy the learning experience. If they really need help, I'll just lead them to the GibbyGuide:), whenever that's completed.

Well, the Level Up trailer states that the outbreak has been going on for (I think) 6 months, and has only gotten worse (hence why there are Husks now). So it's fair to say that they probably know a bit about the current Specimens.

Perhaps a bit of a compromise though. The "briefing" section starts-out empty, but slowly fills as you kill more specimens. Simply seeing a specimen will put it in your briefing (so that you can connect appearance to name), but you have to get actual kills on them for any data to start filling-out. You could even take it a step further and say that you need to survive the wave for any data to be logged, as to take a little from Candlejack saying that the briefing data is coming from survivors of the attacks.
