Sup brahs :D anyone just mainly looking to play tanks in RO2 and not much interested in infantry? I love the long tank battles that take 4-5 minutes to get to the objective. Makes you more cautious about your moves and decisions. Love to play infantry too sometimes although it's a bit puerile.

However I'm a bit curious what TWI have decided to put the values for T34/76 front plate. There had been a bit of debate about it. Apparently TWI is quite dubious about Pz.Gr.39 being able to penetrate T34 front plate. I believe it was capable to penetrate it on up to 1000m and there's plenty of source to back that up. We still haven't seen any RO2 trailers about discernible tank clashes between PzIV and T34 so can't really tell how the parameters have been coded.
I hope though that PzIV in RO2 will be able to handle quite well with T34 front plate at least up to 500m.

To be quite honest I am a bit disappointed there hasn't been any demo videos of the PzIV and T34 in action. While yes the Battle of Stalingrad was known for the horrifc urban infantry battles, a huge part of the kessel battle took place on the steppes to the North, West and South of the city itself.

Here's to hoping there will be some good beta video of tank battles coming soon.

General Paulus being a staff officer and not as competent as many of his peers massed the sixths army panzers in Stalingrad. Even when it became obvious to the Germans that the red army was encircling their position in a huge pincer movement he did nothing with the sixths armys mobile reserves.

Taking into account that the Germans used nearly all of their tank forces inside Stalingrad, and that the Russians too where sending T-34's right off the assembly lines and into battle, before they even applied paint (sometimes even the factory workers crewed the tanks) its pretty historically accurate to have tank battles in urban settings in this game.

Going a little off topic, something I also would love to see is the Russians fighting Russians in Stalingrad. Nearly a regiment worth of red army troops deserted from the 62nd Army, and took up arms with the Germans. Even when the Red army had encircled the Germans fully after operation Uranus a lot of the Red army troops deserted. (most of the enlisted men and lower ranked officers where completely unaware of the Soviet counter offensive, right up to the German surrender. The information blackout was a deliberate strategy from the high command to root out deserters).

Of course they werent executed! They were taken to poltical screening camps and afer some "politcal education" those who weren't deemed suitable for rejoining their comrades (ie. all of them) were given a fair field trial courtesy of the NKVD before appropriate punishment was given.

The Red Army doesnt "execute" comrade! :D

Where did the deserters go? If they were not joining the Germans who were encircled and they had no knowledge of the entire operation, where did they flee? And who offered them shelter and food?

It sounds doubtful to me that the Germans would trust the deserters to equip them and have them fighting alongside their men. Who was the leader of this party and what was his motivation in changing sides?

I too would love to see some gameplay video focusing on the tanks. I was certainly one of many who played the huge tank battles from RO. Good times indeed. :)

If done correctly the value for T34/76 front glacis plate would be always lesser than but never equal to 90 mm @ 0 degrees.

Add about 1,000 meters to your 500 m.

Does anyone know if armour fragmentation occurs even from a none penetrative shot?

So is there a chance of killing the driver for example with internal armour fragmentation with a HE shell?

The tanks look really good, cant wait to play with them.

I am mostly a rifleman but i really like having tanks in the battle too, feels quite good to get the commanders head when he is out of the hatch : )

Am a natural born (tank) hunter. Hunt and fish in real life and I've also been chasing tanks on foot since OFP, WW2OL, and Ro1

It is truly an art form

It isn't a "predefined" value. The slope effectiveness it's different for every round.

I encountered you sometime in Jolly Rodgers, hi! :D (and maybe also in WW2OL)
