Hard Save (at least that's what I call it) (Xbox One X)

I always save at grottos. sit in grotto 6-10 sec, then exit to game main menu. then wait 20 sec then load/start (continue) game.

I never fast travel. because when I do. it would take my tiger skin off. (I would have to put it on again)

I have never had problems with saves or skin glitch after doing this. you must do all the time.
