Whenever I try to get into a server it always just hangs on the screen where it says connecting. I don't understand why this is happening as my brother can play it fine on the other computer so it is not a router issue. All firewalls are turned off so it can't be that and I can play it fine on solo. If anyone else is having this problem of knows any way to fix it then please let me know. My OS is Windows 7.

It stays on that screen and doesn't do anything. I left it for around 15 minutes earlier and it still stayed on that screen.

OK, i did this and it worked for me when it started acting up.

1) Find your killingfloor.ini file located in the steam/steamapps/common/KF/system folder (hint it looks like a notepad icon with a cog)
2) Change the cache size to better match your ram size
Listed under [Engine.GameEngine].

256 Megabytes of RAM or less
CacheSizeMegs=32

512 Megabytes of RAM
CacheSizeMegs=64

768 Megabytes of RAM
CacheSizeMegs=128

1 Gigabyte of RAM or more
CacheSizeMegs=256

EDIT BY Zetsumei: NEVER make CacheSizeMegs bigger than 256mb unless you like crashes!

Fix2: Turn of PreCaching
Also in your redorchestra.ini under [ALAudio.ALAudioSubsystem]
Change UsePrecache=True to UsePrecache=False
and under [Engine.LevelInfo]
Change bNeverPrecache=false to bNeverPrecache=true
and under [Engine.NullRenderDevice]
Change UsePrecaching=True to UsePrecaching=False
and under [D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice]
Change UsePrecaching=True to UsePrecaching=False
and under [D3D9Drv.D3D9RenderDevice]
Change UsePrecaching=True to UsePrecaching=False
and under [OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice]
Change UsePrecaching=True to UsePrecaching=False
and under [PixoDrv.PixoRenderDevice]
Change UsePrecaching=True to UsePrecaching=False

If you don't understand that, just pm me.

Same here. Windows7 DVD 32bit version with all updates.

Just hangs there while trying to connect to a server.
I tryed it by disabling firewall and the network groups, no luck.

Try restarting the game, remember that some of the servers you see are servers hosted by other players that arent hosted ok as in it might show up but its firewall may still block you.

This is really starting to annoy me.
I can't revert to an older version of KF, I can't play the game which I payed for, just because of Steam and TWI that broke a previously perfectly working game for me.

I also wonder if there is a link between KF and UT2004s master tracker being down.
There is so much RUBBISH code in KF, it produces errors like hell, and I bet it also overwhelms the UT2004 tracker at the moment, because of some other overlooked error in the code.
I can see a "server not responding" message in the News of KF, I assume that's the epic server, then it switches to the KF one.

I don't think they really know what they are doing.

I was having a similar problem, when trying to sort my stuff out with my BT hub.
I tried DMZ, serverbehindnat = true / false, ports forwarded.
I get this now, and most servers don't show a list of players.
But it still connects, ofcourse the 10 second disconnect still happens.
