Admit it, you miss them

Sitting in that packed car with arty fire tearing up the ground all around you, the ping of misplaced shots hitting the sides of the vehicle and the Transport Gunner picking targets off to clear the advance of you men.

Can we get a confirmation of if TWI is planning on releasing them or are at least working on them? Or if they are even a possibillity?

Also, what do you think should be down differently this time with transports?

I agree, I loved them.. At the moment its abit counter strike of it all..
Run 100meter, Shoot.. Die/kill.. Restart/Continue to camp.

I think they are included in the free content whenever that comes.

Confirmation was already made before the Beta was released. More tanks, more vehicles (including Half-Tracks), more weapons, more maps, etc. will all be continued to be added into RO2 as time goes on.

Last week one of the Devs mentioned that some new content is just about ready to be added into the game..... a little birdy told me one of those things could very well be the Half-Track and perhaps a vehicle for the Russians, I'm going from memory right now though, but new content is coming soon.

I want proper exit and entry animations.
Enter in the rear, exit over the sides or out the back...... you really do not want the insta exits and entries in RO1.
not if you are serious about realism... lets face it exiting and entering APCs is the most vulnerable time a soldier will face. Getting everybody out all at once by going over the sides is a great advantage.

That would be a nice feature to add..... I'd also like to add an action I could use if I'm in the middle of the Half-Track waiting for people to get out..... I should be able to hit a key and give them a boot-shove out the door so they get out faster.

They might fall flat on their face, but at least I can jump out now :D

I wouldent hate an anim where you could actually look out from on top of the halftrack and shoot from there. As in the real war.

But thats is what i think is called, Hope and wishes.

Well that's why I never mentioned any specific date.... but it has been confirmed that they will be in the game eventually, if not sooner.

Both the Mod and RO1 all started off with limited weapons, maps and vehicles.... as the months/years passed, more and more tanks, vehicles, maps, weapons and everything else were piled into those Red Orchestras..... I highly doubt RO2 will be any different.

Even Tripwire's Killing Floor had things added into the game as time went on.

Most other game developers release a game pretty well done besides a few performance/glitch patches, and maybe a few maps or weapons added which you have to pay for...... Tripwire delivers a game with the basic elements in the game with the basic maps, basic weapons, basic vehicles..... they then work on performance patches and fixing glitches and once all that's smoothed out to a satisfactory level, the free content starts to fly out the door.

Typically these add-ons are included in patches, similar to what Valve does with TF2.

lol. That would be huge. Soldiers sprawled out on the snow wanting to TK your butt! :D

My comment was mainly aimed at getting the animation in to
a) make it fun and look nice
b) make sure the enemy and own team can see whats happening and have the opportunity to shoot you all down. I mean half tracks must choose "debus" points carefully and ensure covering fire is consistent during the debus process.
Driving a HT into the middle of a firefight should be insta death as should be debussing in the middle of the enemy. It should not be instantaneous.

I also have to say that using a half track to TOW a pak50 into a good position would also be insane.

Well, APCs together with larger, open maps are needed badly in RO2, but I'm afraid of one thing. Since TWI removed entering and bailing out from tanks and HoS gameplay is mostly about spawn, run'n'gun and die, halftrucks might work as big, mobile respawns only. With infantry spawning next to it.

I hope it's only me telling you a nightmare story, not future of RO...

I hope that TWI guys know that Panzer Grenadieren were trained to fight both mounted on Half Tracks and dismounted, so that Half Tracks are implemented as true fighting vehicles, not mere armoured buses.
