Had you already think about a pricing launch of the game?

For retail, $50-60. Maybe you could push $70 since HoS is looking more insanely awesome by the day. For a really good collector's edition, over $100.

Then there is also the understanding Zekky and I have :p

Yes but you and I are fanatical fanboys, in the best sense of the word. Realistically they should set it at $49.95. I don't think selling it for less would be good because it would imply that the game is budget. And selling it for $59.95 would not be a smart move either (though I of course would pay it), because RO is hardly as well known as Starcraft or COD unfortunately.

To be honest a $35 price point would be perfect. Remember that many people will not give this game a chance if it's priced too high, few know about RO:O or even Tripwire so a low price would deliver two things:

-A message that Tripwire is not like the other devs hired by publishers and that they realize games are too expensive as is. This would attract more people into the game and would create a lot of good will.
-A low price point on an indie product, since Tripwire is after all indie, combined with an awesome game may rally the whole PC community to this game and will garner a lot of good press as well. In a time where games are horrible and expensive, to have an awesome and original game at a very affordable price will alone be news by itself. The PC community is starved for a real PC FPS game and I can see a whole lot of clans and gamers flocking into this game.

I do predict that the userbase for this game will be huge. A lot of BFers, CoDers and even ArmAoholics may get this game. Time will ensure the good gamers stay and the ones who thought this was another console CoD leave.

I want the special ultra super collector's limited edition that comes with a shambeh bambeh and a 1/50 scale IS-2 model pre-built with all the dev's signatures on it.

I'd pay some money for that.

(but I expect a typical price of about $50 for the actual game)

It's called Market Equilibrium. We want the game to be free and TWI wants to sale their game at 100 million per copy. However, that will never happen; the market reaches a balance where each side wins.

I think the games gonna be 39.99 or 49.99 USD or CAD.

If the special edition of the game comes with a 122 mm IS-2 Stalin shell casing, I will pay up to $100. :)

Just look at Apple or MW2.
Charge more and everyone will want to have it. I can't count how often I have seen people disregard a great game because it was in the budget corner.

Well, those aren't really good examples; they can both be in part or whole attributed to advertising. Apple's advertisements have been very effective; their products are seen as cool, so consumers want to buy them. Same with MW2. IIRC MW2 had the most expensive advertising campaign for any videogame ever (I think they spent ~$150 million?). They didn't charge $70 for to make people want to buy it, they charged $70 because they knew people were willing to pay that much; there's a very large built in fanbase that would buy the game regardless.

I think the standard $49.99 (or 50 dollars) price for the version sold in America is completely justified.

RO1 was a lower priced game because it was
1) A relatively new independent developer
2) A MP only game
3) Priced based on the fact that many had never heard of it

This game, however, (at least in my eyes) is a full blown AAA-level title, complete with SP and MP features. Granted, we all know it's mostly MP based, but still, those features exist.

And I think Tripwire definitely deserves to be regarded among the larger game developers out there these days, and pricing their game below the $50 dollar mark would make them look like they're still aiming for the bargain bin, rather than asking to be compared on the same level with the other big names in the business.

Remember: It's all about self imaging just as much as anything else. If you portray your product as cheap, regardless of whether it is high quality or not, often times people will assume "cheap" quality as well. Setting a price point is a very important marketing and image decision that I doubt Tripwire will overlook.

I predict after the COD WW2 and Black Ops fiasco this game will break records with the pc crowd.

I would gladly pre-order now if it was available.

We have over 150 10-78 clan members wanting this game!

Full dedicated public server files + mod tools = Great success!

And up to 64 player servers! What else can you ask for!

And we have our 10-78 Sparks member, a mapping machine, wait till you see his work.

$40-50 US for full retail price.
$35 US for preorder
$30 US for preorder AND if you already own a copy of ROOST/KF

should RS be a paid for expansion, $10-15 US

i seriously doubt full retail price will be over $50, not even for the quality ROHOS appears to have.....TW loves us too much.
