Why choose between the Auto and the Revolver?

I would love both! :(

But if i REALLY had to choose, 9mm, HCs and Revolver is probably the best setup, since revolver also has a better ring to it with the Gunslinger name in mind.

Meh, gief both anyway :)

Why don't you just simply make your own game, company, engine, website with moderated forums, and hire some people to make your ideas come to life?

That way you could just kick out everyone that disagrees with you and make all the long winded replies you'd like. In addition, maybe we could finally close this thread!

inb4 ridiculously long reply stating how I disagree with you and your response to me thinking this thread should be closed.

also, inb4 you shorten your reply due to my previous inb4

Hah.

Well, that made my day.

And it's 2 AM.

I'm not kicking anyone that disagrees - in fact, I LOVE to be criticized. But it's one thing to have reasons to dislike something, and a whole another thing to dislike for no reason at all.

If there is someone I'm trying to "kick" from the thread is you and Zips. None of you have any reason to dislike it, none of you bothered to give a full argument stating why you dislike it, and both of you will do whatever you can to get it closed.

But I digress.

If you do not have any real arguments as to why you do not want the perk, GET LOST.

Especially you, Anthracy. You've already said that same reply (minus the "make your own game" part) three or four times. I think we got it.

I think the better question is if, after 58 pages, anyone can come up with something that hasnt already been argued.

It seems like we got past the part where we justify its basic existence, and more into the part where details and stats are tossed about in order to get it to a perfect balance.

But if anyone makes a perfectly orginal argument for or against this, I feel that it should be posted. If only just to get this thread to 60+ pages;)

A whole new KF-style game with a gunslinger, ninja and giant tard brawler would be pretty damn cool... the way I imagine it though the slinger would basically be commando/support, the ninja berserk with a little sharpshooter (LAR-and-bow sharpshooter not dualies-and-EBR sharpshooter) in the mix, and the brawler would be zerdic with some demo-like elements (e.g., throwing a huge crate or piece of furniture so hard it can scatter several zeds deadites hellspawn teabaggers Nazi robo-pirates around).

Just a thought.

(and hey, if we get enough ideas together it could coalesce into a new mod...)

I would say, what loadout do you (generic usage of the word) want the Gunslinger to have? With the 9mm, HC, Mac-11 / G18 and .500, what weapons would you want the Gunslinger to be able to hold at once?

I'd have to say: (D)9mm, (D)HC, (D)M-11 and (S).500 as what GS can handle. 9mm as Tier 1, M-11 as Tier 2, HC as tier 2.5 and .500 as Tier 3.

9mm would be reduced to 2 extra blocks, down from 4, HC stays the same, M-11 takes 4 blocks and doesn't increase for dual and .500 takes 4 blocks and can only be used in single.

.500 would get HC-level recoil to compensate for the massive damage it would inflict.

I already stated this like 1 or 2 pages ago.

Wtf g18 and mac 11?
Has there ever been a point at which this perk has NOT been all about revolvers?
Also what's the point of adding more smgs if there would already be a perfectly fine mp7?

Actually, the / was to represent "or" in that particular instance.

So G18 OR Mac-11, not G18 AND Mac-11.

What reason to exist do either of those have?

Well, the Mac-11 was made by someone in the modding section of these forums, and i thought it should be included. The whole Machine Pistol idea was more for variety than anything.

Well I'd not extend the weapons-to-be-added list beyond the revolver which would be needed so there is a tier 3 handgun.
There would be enough variety with the 9mm, handcannons, the mp7 if you wanna include smgs and the revolver.
That's 4 weapons, one for each tier, 2 for tier 2 which you can further vary by having either the single or akimbo version of them which greatly changes their focus.

Afaik, no one has suggested the MP7 for the Gunslinger in this thread...

To clarify:
MP7 = Medic
9mm, HC, "Autopistol" (as in G18 or Mac-11) and Revolver = Gunslinger

I guess you're going to do a phoenix and tell me to read the thread, right? :D

Oh man, now I have to change my signature ;)

The MP7, while being an automatic pistol, has the med-syringe-thrower-thing that fits the medic and only the medic.

But I may be misunderstanding you; you may be having a "inb4mp7isformedics" moment, and I'm too dense to notice it :/

Yeh, why did no one suggest that again?
Why adding a weapon that does the exact same thing minus heals if the mp7, in the heands of a medic, is completely different than in the hands of a perk whose bonuses could turn it into something that might even resemble a weapon?
The medic emphasizes the healing aspect while the gunslinger would emphasize the shooting aspect.

Hehe, now you sound like you support my "dual purpose" weapons ;)

(Referring to this: http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=45250)

But i would say no to the MP7 as a GS weapon, as the MP7 should be a single weapon you hold with both hands, so you can utilize the shooting with your main shooterhand, and the dart with the other hand

The G18 or Mac would be even smaller weapons with no other functionality than to shoot, and thus easy to dualwield. Seems a little off (imo) to dualwield the MP7 as it sorta negates the use of the Dart (at least it would be incredible unrealistic to hold one in each hand and STILL be able to fire the dart like that Oo)

You are quite the famous one, aren't ya? ;)

Yeah, that was what i was trying to explain.

Lol no, just trying to clarify the (possible) misunderstandings ^^

...what the utility to have only weak weapons with the auto? :(
You must have weak weapons and powerful weapons for a perk like that.
The both are a good idea :D auto for small zeds and revolver for powerful zeds like husk or scrake :IS2:
