I voted Pistoleer because the title sound a bit like "Pioneer" which is a word to describe somebody that goes before others.

"To go before and prepare or open a way for; to act as pioneer".

Which i think the Pistoleer role is to go before others and clear path for the other squad members.

That sounds a bit commando/support to me

but nvm, we can discuss that in the other thread.

Wtf is a "dualist"?
Pistoleer sounds kinda silly. Like musketeer.
Gunslinger is actually a bit wild-west-ish. This is a modern army setting.
"Handgun specialist" is meh.
Where's the small arms specialist?

When I saw that padlock icon I was like O.O

I didn't see it...
That's strange. It's the threat which is the most active and they locked it :S

Is it because TWI want not to implant it on the game?

I prefer gunslinger perk because names like gun specialist or dualist are a little bit kinda names which wouldn't work on the game.

I think Zips locked it because phoenix started another thread which is more or less the same thing but with a poll attached. Also, now that 9_6 mentioned it, Gunslinger does sound kinda Wild West-y. Small Arms Specialist seems more appropriate.

This faux perk doesn't need multiple threads as it is. So the discussion continues here or the threads are merged.

With all due respect, after reading this post and checking the pool results, I believe you're letting your personal opinions on the perk interfere with your moderating work.

It was not needed to close the first thread, as I explained on the PM I sent you, because this thread does NOT discuss the whole Gunslinger perk - only its name. The thread is for more general info, that later on will also be discussed in small threads like this one.

This is meant to ORGANIZE and make it simpler for a dev to read and understand. All the information and feedback regarding this suggestion (which is the most discussed idea on these forums) will be shown directy on top of the thread, taking the shape of a pool. Anyone will be able to read it and understand what the majority of the community wants for the perk.

However, locking the threads as I continue to open them while searching for more useful and specific feedback from the community is downright sabotage.

Honestly it just seems like you wanted an excuse to make another thread about Gunslinger. I mean, really? A poll about the perk's name?

Whether or not closing the original thread was an appropriate response, I doubt any other perk suggestion with more than one thread on the front page would've gone unclosed. Why should Gunslinger be any different?

This suggestion is different because the original thread is too chaotic for someone who hasn't followed it - would you honestly read 1100 posts just so you could post a single reply?

Not only that, but this thread is meant to acquire precise and short information/feedback. Starting from topic to topic.

This thread isn't meant to replace the first one, but rather complement it. I'm asking information here that wouldn't be appropriate to ask there.

One thread and stick with it.

Okay

Small arms specialist is a too long perk's name and do you considere the mp7 is a small weapon?...

Yes, I would totally prefer the Akimbo perk.
This isn't limited to only dual guns though.

Well yeah, it kinda is an elaborate pistol.
That would elevate it into the unique position of being a multi-perk weapon like I expected the grenade launchers to be for the firebug with his "fire grenades".
Not seeing a problem with that.

The Akimbo is dual wielding all guns in his mind. Even if he's only holding one, he's imagining the other one and shooting that just as well.

So each time his imaginary gun shoots he goes all "pewpew" and kills the enemy with MIND BULLETS?
Alroit lads.
