Definitely a good idea to get friendly with the admin of your favourite home servers like FeuerSturm here. We have a bunch of regulars who PM me the steam name/steam ids of trouble makers so I can retro life ban them. We get a few running a friendly fire server but not as many as I thought I would get. Makes me laugh, these people pay to buy a game and then they deliberately shoot themselves in the foot by getting themselves banned on the very servers they need to play the game they bought. Bizarre logic but go figure but great for me because I like banning it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside - that and I share the steam ids with other KF server admins so they'll never quite know what other servers they will also be banned from until they try.

But yeah, my problem isn't griefers it's just noobs. I am tired of being the best player on every server even when I'm not THAT l33t at this game. Just shows how bad everyone else is.

Ppl usually think i have "misspelled" griefer on my name... Griever and griefer is totally different things, you would know better if you have played Final fantasy VIII, very old game tho lol. Griever is a demon-like final Boss in that game.

We/You should generate a list of known griefers, their names, steam ids, etc. This way, server admins can decide, "Alright, I don't want these individuals coming to ruin my server." And banning them beforehand.

Unfortunately correct. We didn't, mind you, but Griever and I could've totally made this all up, dropped names, and gotten people banned with ease. Such a system is VERY easy to abuse...

Add the person as a friend in steam. Now in your friends console box select the persons steam id page. Observe the steam url for that person. Its actually the steam id rather than name so Bob's your uncle another ban for life can be issued when they have left the server. Don't forget to unfriend them after unless you're like me and wait until they ask why you asked to be their friend to which I reply 'so I can give them a life ban from my server'.

There u go, group griefers. The Groups I've seen have been even more childish, they all spam to mics "muta fukaaas!!! " "aaaaa mota fokaaaas!" "ur mother is a motha fukaaaa!" -.-

Believe me, there are far worse types. The ones who intentionally weld you outside of a 'safe' room to die and the intentional Fleshpound ragers are probably the worst of the worst. They can grief with such simple things as standing behind you when you're backing away from a Skrake: you can't move away and you get skewered...

Nasty stuff. When it's a single guy, I can usually counter-grief (Run from a Fleshpound until it targets HIM, then rage it. Or weld HIM outside) or votekick. But when there's a group, it's another story. On a mostly un-admin'd server, it's game-ending.

The groups are the worst. They KNOW they can't be kicked cuz they fill (3 griefers) half of the server, or almost (if 2). Then they start yelling to mic so loud it makes my ears bleed. I can't understand this behaviour, is that what they think 'fun'? They buy the game so they can be complete dicks?

I love the ones who joins on FF servers and starts killing the entire team (typically 1-2 players only) and when the last guy is alive and shoots them, they start claiming the last guy alive as griefer\idiot\noob and saying often they'll tell about you to an admin and when the guy replies "Well he can always check the serverlogs to see who is right." and the weasels suddenly make an hasty exit and never seen as they get banned afterwards

I get mature players in probably 99% of my games. But when I do get griefers, the problem is that they're very, very organized and can really make a mess of a server...

Am I pulling griefers towards me then? Today this "Thriller" guy in Mastertheknife's server blocked all doors, raged fps, welded ppl out, you know what I mean. He was telling that he have played this game for 3 days and it's boring, and that the game sucks. But he wanted to grief all day, some ppl didn't even know how to votekick...

8 quid a month buys you the knowledge that whenever you play, you will not have issues with griefing.

Thanks for reporting, not the first time i hear about Thriller.
When i get home (Thursday) i will check the server logs, get his steam ID and ban him.
by the way, it's not just my server, it's me and Syrential (he is not active much).
