Grenades and windows....

Why do they not get along? it seems everytime i try to toss one through a window it clips the frame and bounces back at me. normally this would be remedied by careful aiming of the grenade. but the aiming of the grenades seems like broken compared to the first one. That or windows have clipping issues not allowing grenades though as easy

It took some time getting used to the new angles and how they differed from RO1 (where I could hit 4th floor windows easily), but I seem to have managed it by now. In between that time I did indeed kill myself and teammates in abundance fouling up that windowthrow. I suspect yours is also just a case of giving yourself time to get the hang of it.

it just doesnt feel natural , that or there is something wrong with the windows (the ones with the small cross frames.)

I have noticed that the grenades are remarkably bouncy for heavy metal balls. I've thrown a grenade at a window from 20m away, had it hit the window sill, and bounce all the way back to me like a tennis ball, blowing me to kingdom come.

Kind of an annoying way to fail...

Oh those. Yeah, I mainly stick to the ones with the larger openings, I still haven't gotten the hang of getting it through those, however that was also a problem in RO1 (the window on the Church Yard in Zhitomir being infamous, since a sniper could stand in relative safety shooting out since most players couldnt hit it.

One could use cover and blind fire if you can get next to the window or door.

Watch where the hand is in the frame and use that as a reference.

The grenades generally go exactly where you want them to go 90% with enough practice - just take your time, practice, and be ready to book if you miss is my method.

Can be a bit fiddly sometimes and they do seem to bounce oddly when they hit the edge of a window frame. Best to get close and use alt fire to put a nade through for ground floor windows. I find that's a lot more reliable.

And if you hear an unexpected bouncing sound, don't look... run!

it takes some throws then you can hit it right
i hit the 4th floor from layin on the stomach in this game too btw on pavlovs house map .. it does work

the bouncing is horrible though
seems it even speeds up hitting an object

I usually hit the crossbars as if they were bigger than the hole...
Grenades are also like tennis balls and bounce really well... A hard metal lump shouldn't.

The real problem is that one can't throw demo charges through windows.

G key? I just switch to grenades... but anyway, I underhand grenades down the fire escape of the Grain Elevator all the time. Out of windows above doorways is a good use too.

Aim low.

That's how I've managed not to embarrass myself anymore. Wherever you think that grenade needs to go when thrown overhand....throw it lower than that. RO2 characters throw grenades like they're competing in an Olympic competition, so for shorter range (like right in front of your face) you have to aim low like he's throwing it at the the middle of a distant wall.

The grenade arc still kind of annoys me but I'm starting to get used to it. I'm also in love with the alt grenade throw. I love just casually dropping them off of ledges.

I use RMB for underhand. RMB is my melee button. MMB is my ironsights button.

I prefer not to use quick grenades, as long as you hold the mouse button you wont let go of the grenade. Bring your grenades out. The stock button for underhand is MMB like the tutorial said, but you have to have your grenades out.

It'll get stuck no matter what.
