PSS: RO1 is only cut when you play the game with German language. download the English language from steam and the game is uncut.
I don't know German laws but I thought it wasn't actually illegal to bypass the censor
Oh, well that's no good. What about buying it from GMG using a foreign VPN and then activating on Steam (which you have to do anyway)? You'll get a non German CD Key and won't break any Steam rules, and if they shut down your GMG Account that hardly matters as you play the game using Steam anyway. Presuming you don't have a GMG account with a lot of games obviously. Its not, in fact it isnt even illegal to sell a uncensored version in the first place. Even a indexed version can be sold (as long as you provide a proper age verification and make sure the customer is an adult)
The problem is that using proxies is against the Steam Guidelines and jeopardizes your account.
Yes i heart about that. Was your Steam system language, the first time you enter the key, on German? If yes, that could be the reason, for the cut version. Some people register the German retail key, or bought the German Steam version, and got the uncut version. But only if there steam and game language were set NOT on German.thats not entirely true.
I got RO1 from the logitech facebook promotion a while back and eventhough I play in english and the Key should be a international one, I only get the "reduced gore" option.
You can only play the cut version of RO1 in germany, no way around it, which is imho the worst solution ever implemented.

I've even heard of Germans contacting Steam support saying they want the uncensored TF2 version and getting it that way, I don't think Steam will make a fuzz. Bit impractical but hey.
well, Germans that already had the uncut versions from TF2 could change it back to uncut if they bought the uncut version before it was f2p (some of the uncut versions got changed to cut).
And Steam dont change cut versions to uncut from retail games. I was unaware that the orangebox was cut in germany (episode 1 was uncut :S), so i tried it with the steam support.. had to buy it again through amazon.co.uk
I just bought RO2 throug Green... i hope it will be uncut... do u think i can get a refund if its cut? There is nothing on theire page that says "you get the Low violence Version".![]()
From what I can recall GMG goes by the country of your ip and I am sorry to say it might just be the crippled version, if you bought (and registered) it from Germany...
oh okwe will see. its a little bit confusing some ppl say cut other say uncut.. greengaming first said its cut.. than they said, maybe its uncut because they only have world keys.. and steamsupport said sth like "we think its uncut"
Steam itself says only "Red Orchestra 2 - Deluxe Retail" nothing with ROW or german version...
i just hope i can get a refund if its cut... most of the time i can easlily buy uncut games... othertimes its sooo confusing
nvm i guess i have to wait
yes u will get it.I got the DDE from GMG, and activated it on Steam, but it only shows it as "Red Orchestra 2." Is this normal? Will I still get the beta?
