Please post here videos or screenshot showing small realistic details that make RO2 so immersive.

Look at that little spark when he is opening chamber to reload at 2:54.

Red Orchestra 2 [Beta] | Ep 3 | New map! [1080p] - YouTube

Guns shouldn't spark when being cocked. If you slow that down, it's actually a tracer round that came out of your gun and hit the building in front of you. I'd report that as a bug.

One great detail that I am still impressed with is the operation of the K98 as opposed to the mosin nagant.

Next time you use the K98, fire 1 round and then do a partial reload. Notice how many bullets your avatar puts in the gun -- its two. When you fire 1 round of the mosin and reload, your avatar reloads 1 bullet.

The reason the K98 loads two for one bullet fired is because it ejects a non-fired round when the bolt is pulled back if there are still rounds in the magazine. So, in other words, there is a trade off that you lose bullets when you do a partial reload with the K98.

This is a great little detail that I've never seen any other game do, even though it is simply a representation of how the actual gun works.

Are You sure about that? I thought that sometimes there is a spark when Your rebolt, some tiny portion of of unburned powder left in the chamber. But I don't know that much about guns.

Nope, Guns don't spark when you operate the bolt. And smokeless powder does not leave burning embers like black powder sometimes can. Now to the other guy, all bolt actions, or in fact any gun with an operational extractor, will dump the chambered round if you rack the action while its loaded and chambered.

I'm not going to load a round into my Mosin now, but I believe that the cartridge doesn't hook onto the extractor until after the round is fired.

My favourite little detail can be seen with the semi autos. Three different kind of reloads for one weapon! Depending on the situation, the character can change the entire magazine, insert a 5rd stripper clip or manually insert single rounds.

That is truly amazing.

One of the great little details I noticed today...
Was playing on the Barracks, there's the building in the middle of the map (I am yet to get familiar with building names), the one with the hallway in the middle and two flights of stails on either side....
There was some artillery going on, the whole building was shaking and the picture of Stalin hung on a wall actually fell... I cried out loud to my clanmates about how cool it was... they must have thought I was crazy

Actually the extractor grabs the round as soon the the bolt is fully closed and the locking lugs engauge. All extractors grab the round once the bolt is fully forward. If it worked as you said, and someone had a dud round there would be no way to eject the bad round and that would be a retarded design flaw. But I know how weapons work and they are as stated.

One thing I noticed the other day while covering my SL from those damned russians was I shot, the shell/casing came out, and flew onto a cup and made a *tink*. I know it's a very minor detail but for this game to be capable of doing small things like that is just amazing to me and really gets me into it.

The supression system isn't really just a detail but it gets me immersed as well.

lmao i was about to post something about that stalin picture... except when it fell off after i shot it.

the props in this game and how they can get in the way etc is more realistic than any other game i can recall.

i honestly can't get over how awesome the cover and blindfiring system is working... other games are gonna steal that for sure.

I really like the sound and you sometimes find these diamants in some videos:

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad Beta Gameplay - YouTube

From 04:06 onwards the german guy and the shots, it fits so perfectly.

(for those that don't understand german):
"I'm reloading, *shot* he is hit!"
*Shot* *Shot* *Shot*
"Die! Die you bastard"
*Shot*

That was just, ah i don't know, so frigging atmospheric!
