Whilst the map itself is very nice I'm a bit disappointed that there's another outside spot that I'm pretty sure will soon become the go to camp spot. I'm not sure how to describe getting there but it's on the second level outside accessible from the rear gardens and windows and is just a balcony with good line of sight over two easy to defend choke points. Just feels like all the effort that went into making the inside look great will get ignored because of another outside camp spot.

Feels like this map could have some really great potential with weather effects too if it was much darker outside so you had to rely on lightning and torches to see approaching zeds. Surprisingly I managed to solo it on hard as a commando (Scrakes felt squishier but maybe I'm imagining it) and I'll probably find a pub to do it on suicidal.

These single camping spots would not be happening if TWI reduced the number of zeds spawns or created a large buffer between zed spawns and player location. The zeds spawning too close to the players is a HUGE issue IMO with the game right now, right up there with teleporting zeds.

I love the new map, too! The variety of locations is really neat and while I've only played it a bit so far, it seems really big. Also love the "new" character models. Nice to see familiar faces. :D

Just played a round. Gorgeous map is gorgeous.

Also, lol man, it feels even more claustrophobic than Skell's biotics remake in certain corridors. Loving it.

The teleporting zeds on this map is way worse than any other map, the map is definitely my favorite in terms of aesthetics but it's hindered by the fact you can't run throughout the corridors and rooms without being sandwiched in. (for me anyway)

I wish they made a change to the teleporting system because as of now I feel the map is not exactly fun to play on while it does look absolutely amazing.

Love the new map. Lots of attention to details one might miss if too busy killing zeds. Just walk around when you have time and you see they put lots of effort into it. All props, statues, paintings, furniture etc. look well made. All I miss is a vintage BMW, Mercedes or Maserati parked somewhere, so Hans himself can pop to town for spam or something.

And thanks for new characters, I ve made my pick who I am gonna play for :) They look real as any human who would try to survive through an apocalypse. I am not too keen on those macho badass characters, that look like they can kill anything with too much going on, like Ana, Bulldog, Hayato. Only Vinnie Jones would be believable badass. We need more real people. We need John Goodman and Vinnie Jones.

New map is incredible. Work on details outstanding. And there are so many new assets, that it would be enough for 10 more maps. Great job, Tripwire!

Whoever mapped Volter Manor... did a very great job! Really embracing. Very nice map layout, map design, weather, different doors, thunders, just everything. Awesomazing masterwork.

Is it just me yet or is this map lacking on ammo boxes?

so i danced around the new map last night for a bit..and i love it! my favorite so far. the atmosphere is fantastic with all that rain and thunder.and manor looks fantastic too. needles to say i got slaughtered right away but i'll play this map to perfection :p
well done TWI!

Did anyone notice the lightning that strikes the roof of the manor? i honestly love how Frankenstein it feels. and the garden in the back with the lantern statues overlooking a body of water while a lighthouse keeps watch is by far the most prettiest part of the map. or even all the other currently released maps right now.

Seems to me the devs try to make a lot of completely different maps to make all kinds of objects available for the modders to put their "dream-map" together. Nothing I saw in the Manor reminded me of anything in other maps. In KF1 the core-maps differed quite a lot as well.

Seing the settings...I mean, a wicked Lab, a snowy Outpost, Paris with a destroyed Eiffel and now a really gory Manor...next thing might gonna be a mountain-themed map or some kind of highway...perhaps^^,

The zeds spawning too close to the players is a HUGE issue IMO with the game right now, right up there with teleporting zeds.

Especially in Manor since running through the narrow corridors is basically a death sentence. I was busy exploring the maps and it's just game over if that scrake you were running away from appears in front of you body blocking the entire hallway.

Well since I was sick yesterday and didn't get a chance to play around at all, when i was up around 4a this morning I downloaded it and had a chance to do a round of Manor on HoE.

My initial impression was, dang it's just a small map just the interior? Then after leaving one clot alive, I noticed the whole outside area with the rain and thunder and then finally noticed the whole basement/lab area. The map is absolutely amazing and extremely large. It's a whole Manor with multiple rooms, an equal size basement and 2 (maybe 3) outside areas.

Now onto the exploitable, glitches and strats :
- The table next to the fireplace leading to basement can be stood on and nothing can get you as long as there isn't a large enough pile up to get a ZED onto the corners.

- The windows can be broken (Hallelujah)! If you've seen my melee strats or Solo HoE Paris video you'll know why. (5/7 on first attempt isn't too shabby as a zerker).

- Some areas in the outside force ZEDs to get stuck (I'm not sure why) and will instantly teleport to a location 3 ft from them to get unstuck even though you have Line of Sight with them. This was quite frightening when a raged FP just poofed and then reappeared right next to me almost instantly.

- I have noted some pathfinding issues in the map (ZEDs choose a long way around instead of a direct route to you).

- I found what I believe would be a great team holdout area in the outside area and then moving along to basement if required. I can't seem to find a good spot inside the Manor (shame really since it's really detailed in there too).

I'll try and get a couple of videos going for what I've noted/seen so far within the next couple of days. Hopefully one of them will be a HoE solo clear =x.

The teleporting mechanic is horribly noticeable on Manor more so than any other map right now.

Indeed, the new map is great! Had a very memorable boss fight in the gardens.

Best map so far I think, with very varying environments and lots of useful statics for custom maps.

Was that a torture chamber I saw on the previous page? With wash-down tiles? Good lord.

One thing I am not sure about when I go underground, I am not sure this and this is how you do brickwork :D It looks really weird to me, the angle. Is that normal around there?

This map is just absolutely beautiful. The rain and lightning and thunder is amazing. Sometimes I like to just stare out at the sea and wait for the next flash of lightning to illuminate the rolling waves. So. Amazing.
