Ok, i switched over to openGL graphics and i like what i see over the D3D stuff. But in two of the menu screens theres white boxes where the natural game colour should be. Thats not my problem though. After doing this, and forceing the AA and AF, when i used a sniper rifle, all i can see out of the scope now is white, besides the crosshairs, its just WHITE! What the hell is this? can it be corrected? Will an update make OpenGL an option in the menu as opposed to having to go into the ini file?

Thanks to anyone who knows what im talking about.

OpenGL would enable the game to be played on non Windows operating systems.

What the posters above me are trying to say, in a very roundabout way, is that OpenGL isn't actually officially supported in the Unreal engine. It's always been in there, but can only be enabled through the ini and is glitchy. It won't ever see a fix, because for whatever reason, Epic never saw the need. It's nice that the functionality is there albeit a shame it isn't fully implemented, but I'm afraid that whatever it is that's causing the problem for you is not likely to ever be fixed. Except maybe by accident.

That is not just an OpenGL problem...when I first started playing the game I saw the same thing in the sniper scopes using DX9 renderer.

Not sure what I changed but I was able to clear up the problem.I made so many tweaks to my graphics card and the games settings at one time I dont know which would have had the effect.

epic supports the opengl and runing ut2k4 on linux and mac, tripwire DOES NOT. There was the openGL selection in the settings on ut2k3 and ut2k4

It has been said many times. Steamd doesnt' support linux/mac so why should red orchestra since linux/mac users technically can't use it?(well they can with emulation). OpenGL has a problem when it didn't with the mod because of all the improvements made that use directX. To make openGL work they'd need to code new effects for openGL that'd take time.

Thanks for the no help reply.
I DID help you. I told you it's not supported, meaning, it AINT GOING TO WORK RIGHT. It iss GOING to be FUCKED UP if you use openGL, so don't be a smartass.
You're basically asking "Why can't I use the womens bathroom when I have a penis?"

What you have 2 do regarding the scope is in the menu put it as Textured instead of low or high.

Somone mensioned that yesterday when i was in a server but they were a bit vague. Thank you everyone for the replys...except for innociv, seek help bud, really, and dont ever reply to my posts, your attitude sucks, kthnx.

I dont care about the white boxes so much as to the scope. Ill check it out. And yes i do prefer the look of openGL over the D3D, other wise i wouldnt be going through all of this hassle.

Thanks again guys!:D

My mistake, OpenGL is supported in UE2. I'm thinking an engine too far back.

Which means, in regard to the original question, I don't know.

It's also supported in the first UE engine.
