I recently upgraded from a 9800GTX+ to a 5870 and since then the game runs horribly. Before I ran everything on highest settings without issue before but now it's about 15-20fps. None of my other games I've had the slighest issue with. I run BFBC2 on DX11 highest settings without any lag, Crysis runs fine, everything else runs perfectly except for this. I'm running a faster card, why would it start to lag? I'm not using 10.3 drivers because people were reporting issues with battlefield so I'm still running 10.2.

make sure you properly removed your old drivers. And try a defragment and possible ini file deletion. Different brands of videocards mean that you must really clean things well. Driverheaven should have some cleaning tools

I made sure to do that, cause I've heard of the issues, so I don't know what the problem is but I think I may just do a fresh install when I'm off, it needs to be done anyways honestly, get everything squeeky clean. Just confusing that all my other games perform excellently and this one falls flat on its face...

You could try deleting the killingfloor/system directory in case there are any settings stored in .ini files which conflict (note that you will lose any settings you have changed).

I tried that, didn't help, I deleted and redownloaded the game to no avail also. Turning all the settings to their lowest also doesn't affect the FPS at all.

Well last night I backed up all my data and reinstalled Windows 7. I delete my 300GB Steam folder and just decided to redownload the games I wanted. Killing Floor finished last night and I launched it this morning and it's running smoothly. I'll never know what the problem was but it's now fixed after a reinstall and download :p
