Is there any settings in the .ini files that will increase the graphics quality? I have a Q9550@ 2.83Ghz and a Radeon 6870. Which lets me play at 60FPS+, but I feel like the graphics aren't as good as they should be. Even with ultra anti aliasing, I see a bunch of jagged edges, and it's nearly impossible to aim past 120m. I can see blobs moving that barely resembles a body. Shadows pop in closer than my max view distance and it just looks way out of place. Wonderful game, just that these two graphics cons bother me, jagged edges even with max AA and pop in shadows at around 75m.

ROEngine.ini tweaks (look in Documents\My Games\Red Orchestra 2\ROGame\config):

[TextureStreaming]
PoolSize=140 <-- set this to half of your VRAM

[SystemSettings]
OneFrameThreadLag=false <-- not really a graphics tweak, but gives a more direct feeling to your inputs
OnlyStreamInTextures=True <-- This will make sure textures stay in your VRAM once they are loaded and prevents the weapons being blurry again after you respawn

If you guys want better AA in RO2/RS, I would be happy if you support my suggestion to implement Downsampling into the game in this thread, thanks :)

Personal preference for (in my opinion) best looks:
- Everything on highest however:

- Disable Anti Aliasing in the game (makes things blurry), and enforce through your videocard control panel (NOTE do not enable regular CSAA as then all menus blank out).
- Set anisotrophic filtering in your videocard control panel to the highest setting (try enabling high quality AF as well)
- If you can do it on your videocard try enforcing a negative lod (this can give texture corruption, but makes everything a lot sharper).
- Disable depth of field, this option makes a lot of things appear extremely blurry and unsharp.
- Disable ambient occlussion, this gives a weird second shadow behind characters.

If your computer maxes out the game you should be able to increase the shadow resolution in the ini (not sure what the setting is called but it should be in mydocuments\mygames\redorchestra2\rogame\config\roengine.ini)

And just incase you find the mouse not feeling responsive while you have plenty of frames try in the roengine.ini to set OneFrameThreadLag to false

if i force antialiasing (no CSAA) through nvidia panel some menus are blank. GTX 680

The best would be to implement downsampling into RO2/RS. ;)

UE3 already supports upscaling from a lower rendering resolution with the ROEngine.ini entries "UpscaleScreenPercentage=" and "ScreenPercentage=", maybe this functionality could be expanded to downsample to the screen resolution from a higher rendering resolution.

For me with an AMD gpu forcing any AA on the gpu control panel renders the games really bad with colored clear outlines almost everywhere on vegetation, weapons etc, it looks just horrible in most maps.

Didn't tried things like radeonpro to force the AA but i guess the results will be the same, that's really the big visual downside of this game.

Downsampling will probably be a good thing, i would love to have a working solution to have a sharp AA and no outlines everywhere sadly actually i have only the choice to play without AA or with the blurry ingame MLAA or totally messed up rendering with bad outlines.

I would imagine upscalescreenpercentage=100 does nothing. 120 upscales by 20% etc. Maybe just set it below 100?
