If you haven't heard latest Gran Turismo 5 news, listen up! Polyphony Digital has announced the next game in the series, Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, is to be released in October of this year to commemorate 10 years of the GT series. The new game is expected to feature as many as 16 cars on-track at the same time, fully integrated with head-to-head online competition! Check out the links below to learn more, and to start downloading high definition screenshots and video of the new game

Man I haven't seen a game come this close to a 3D rendered image with radiosity in real time till now!

The lighting, sun baking/burn etc all look spot on for a game!
Now with full interiors and drivers too

even the sounds are way better

Anybody can take pictures of RL races and claim that its a game

Seriously though, those screens look amazing compared to Grand Turismo 1. Hard to believe its been almost a decade since I've played it.

It's not non believing, merely annoyance at the fact that Sony seems insistant on using pretty graphics (which I'm sure the PS3 is awesome at) for hype hype hype hype hype.

A perspective gained from years of disappointing PC releases that look good, suffer big delays because someone's too big for their boots and end up being disappointing.

These graphics are freaking amazing !!!!!!!

I think GT is a pretty safe game when it comes to success.

You can't kill it gameplay wise as long as you keep the same old style...

Same game, same gameplay, more cars, more tracks and graphics that alsmost look real...

Can't go wrong with that.

I just restarted playing GT3
... Got the Porsch RGT, fully upgraded... 1023hp... Cant lose even if I drag on every wall :D
Great series of racing games.

hooray replay transport controls!

16 cars....
dynamic weather and day/night cycles? that would be cool

damage for Racing cars and F1 cars I hear

anyway I notice in some scenes it's got some chromatic aberration/blooming going on

Believe they have stated they want to do a full damage model for cars including internal parts, however they have run into the wall of companies not wanting them to hurt their cars in the past, they don't know if they can break down that wall yet for GT 5 full yet. Not sure if prolog will have it, but as I understand it prolog will be upgradeable and be used as a prototype for things they are trying to do in the full 5 release.
