Yup, we have an "in principal" agreement to swap assets with the Iron Europe team.

As I understand it they are now modding Mount and Blade.

Keep up the good work folks!!!

Should I work on a good trench knife weapon like before or start a more "improvised" weapon? Like a trench shovel, club...etc

It depends how many you guys plan to make I guess. If you are only making a few, I think the trench knife would be best. I know the German army issued a moddified Bayonet at one point for a trench knife, and the French were issued with 'the French Nail'. Not sure if officers used swords or anything. I'm sure most people would be happy with one melee weapon per faction but if you can make more i'm sure it would be well recieved. I personally can't wait to storm a trench brandishing a knife.

The team have established a website/forum for the mod, we'll post a link when it gets a little further on develpoment wise, so things might get a little quite around here

Kaminski, mate. The character models are beginning to look really great! And Danh's map really got that WW2 looks!
I don't want a completley perfect mod, I just want something that resembles WW1.
I'd be happy to play WW1 maps with the existing bolt-action weapons and with the base "skins" if I had to, but now you guys are acually making great skins, maps and weapons. This is all I could ask for.
I'd be happy with this mod in any state of progression.
Stay cool!
Over and out.

This is still a work in progress. Ignore the white line I didn't notice it at first when I took the screenshot.

Looking good guys, maps are really looking the part, should be back home tonight, I ll get round to making some trenches that have been torn apart by artillery fire and scatter some debris around, such as duckboards, wire and loose sandbags etc. with a few craters dotted around, it'll look genuine enough. Also top work on the trench weapons.

Just starting with this wireframe, lots of work to do yet and a lot more detail to put in, but this should form the basis of our, "Seaforth Highlander of Canada" model, the boys at the bottom are the real deal. I given our model a "Tam O'Shanta" hat, and we'll have some steel helmet versions too for a little variation I think.

No I might sound annoying but the gritty, dark, sephia look is hammered into our brains as most pictures of that war are like that.

But these poppies in spring where really red. I agree the gritty looks cool, but in reality it really requires colors.
