Gifting KF, intricacies of the steam gift sys

Hello all. As many might have heard me mention before I play a lot at lan parties, I've been wanting to get some extra copies of KF so I can pass them out at lan parties to people so they can play.

With KF on sale as it is now, and a lan party coming up right after christmas I want to stock up on some copies of KF.

Now because I dont know who these games are going to in advance i figured i would try and buy "gift" editions of KF and send them to my own email. Does this just give me a cd key for KF that you can then activate when you want? is there an expiry date on a gift? Lastly if I buy the package KF with the DLC can I give the game to someone else and the DLC to me?

You cannot gift to yourself. I think you can buy a bunch of extra copies and just not gift them and they will just sit there until you do gift them to someone.

You can gift to yourself, just send the gift to an email you own.

You CAN gift to yourself, or everyone you want. Just purchase the game at checkout for a gift and enter a mail under your control (it can be even the one with you registered your Steam) and you'll a mail in which you'll have a link. In order to actually gift the game to someone, just make them log into their steam account and make them click this link, after a short activation process, they'll have the game.

You should just be able to buy it right now as a gift and later go to 'manage gifts' and send it somewhere. I've never dealt with this except with multi-packs of a game.

ok, as i expected i can gift to myself via email. but what about the pack with all the DLC does that come under 1 cd key or can the DLC be unlocked on 1 account and the game on another?
