I own a 20g Ipod and a Nano Ipod. I'm in love with my Nano and I mean in love. If i could marry it I probably would. It's sleek, stylish, and has curves in all the right places. I've dropped if half a dozen times while in full sprint(Carrier I have for it blows), and it still works like a dream. My parent recently bought a BMW M3 with the Ipod adapter and its fricken amazing. The last time i check out Itrip it blew my left nuts, but reports have said it is more reliable.

I love my Nano Ipod. Only thing I love more....is Red Orchestra.

Hey there iPod (or similar mp3 player) users, I have a couple of questions.

1.) How do you recharge it (rechargable batteries, adapter, docking station?)

2.) How many hours does a fully charged unit last before having to recharge again?

3.) Is the sound quality better than your "average" 265 Mb mp3 players?

Thanks in advance.

For my Creative Zen Touch;

1. Came with a power adapter that plug into the side.

2. Fully charged it lasts 24 hours at 128kbps, I store at 192kbps so I get about 20 hours out of it. I use it constantly at work which is 6-7 hours per day almost and only need to charge it twice a week.

3. Depends on your bitrate, but generally speaking an mp3 encoded with lame at 192kbps constant is identical to the sound quality you get off a cd. The headphones that came with it were garbage and I quickly swapped them for some sony ones which sound awesome.

Okay thanks guys, that was really helpful. Think I'll probably go for a 20-30 Gb iPod, maybe the one Reddog mentioned. I'll look into them.

Oh, one more question: I assume I can pick the various albums from a list? Say I want to listen to a certain album, I pick the artist / album from the list. And if I manually make a directory on the hard disk (on my PC), will the iPod recognize it and can I put mp3s in that directory, then play it on my iPod? Or won't that work?

You can create "Playlists" that you can setup to be just one whole album, and have several playlists within your iPod. That way you just pick Playlist1/New Kids on The Block, and it will be the whole album. :p

As far as a directory, it's called iTunes... everything will have to go through there. So, if you are like me, and you have a separate "Media" folder, you'll have to import all of that stuff into iTunes. iTunes will also convert .wma automatically.

You do like this in the ID3 tag on each mp3 song you can add genre, artist, album and year of release (+ some other things)
I have filled in this info for every mp3 I have on my iPod so browsing for a album I can do like this.

I chose:
browse->genre->black metal (just as a example) -> naglfar (the bands name) -> sheol (album name)

well in my case not entierly true since I have customized my main menu to contain the "genre" tab so I just go straight to that from main menu.

there are ofcourse other ways of browsing the music you could i.e.

artist->album

or just albums

The reason I go trough genere->artist->album is because I find it easier to find what I am looking for then just bringing up a list of the albums I curretly have on my mini.
