so as we all know, germans will run with weapons held in one hand while russians will run with weapons in two hands.......that's a nice touch that is not only (apparently) historically accurate, but good for gameplay to help better identify friend from foe.

couple questions though about the animations......if you notice in all the demo videos we've seen so far, all of the "sprinting" 1st person animations for the germans are showing the weapon being held with two hands up against the chest (like they are for russians).

will those be replaced or will they stay like that? if they stay as is, then how will they match up with the 3rd person animations (which are already look to be in) that show weapons being held in one had?

I didn't even notice, good call. That is kinda strange. Just like in RO the 1st person model didnt have gloves on, but the 3rd person model had ;)

you're kidding right? historically accurate? this is why i gave that other guy a hard time for spreading information like this.

you saw a small sampling of animations. one with the russians running in upright position(with scripted moments like the jump across the corpse), the other with germans running in crouched position. of course the animation is going to look different.

For first person it is something we would like to do time permitting. Our lead animator also states if you all buy 12 copies of the game each, he will definitly make it happen.

the purpose of the question was just to bring it to people's attentions that currently the 1st and 3rd person animations don't.....while i could assume TW would have noticed and realized they still have to put the matching animations in, that's still an assumption.

better to point it out just in case people didn't notice and/or forgot about it.

oh, yosh i would be happy to buy 12 copies......in 5 years when the price drops to $5 each. :D

While I don't think this specific example of 3rd and 1st person animations syncing is too important, when it comes to crouching and leaning I really hope everything is matched exactly to prevent clipping and popup abuse.
