Nobody would like to see regular army insignia on the flanks? To give the game little uniform depth? Since the German Coat of arms is just redicolus.

Decals weren't discontinued until 1943 IIRC so the the Reichsadler on the left side (and the flag on the right for the M35) would be appropriate for most of the Wehrmacht at Stalingrad. I don't care too much about it though.

Sometimes german helmets look just like russians as there's no insignia, shot one or two as only helmet was visible, just to notice they were friendlies :( But yea, there's a lot more important things to fix at the moment.

For the same reason the germans stopped painting white balkenkreuze on their vehicles, to be less conspicous. The tricolor is the equivalent of wearing a bright bullseye on your head

Heroes could have green paint splotches where the logos should be, indicating that they were issued the older helmets and had to modify them during the course of the campaign(s).

An insignia would be nice yes.

Should be too hard to edit that texture either. I would be grateful if someone did this on their own.

authenticity is always a plus

I wouldn't mind seeing the decals in some early-war maps, but by the point of Stalingrad, most soldiers likely had the decals removed. As said earlier, they do make a bit more of an obvious target.
