And I just don't ****ing get where the hard part is.

same part of why killing floor is so hard - your sights are disoriented while moving and people get hypnotised watching them move in figure-eights across the screen :p. That or they're bringing their cod skills over to ro. I always do rubbish for a round or two after quitting bf/c 2 to play ro and vice versa :(

It is best explained when lookign at one of the journalists another thread talked about (guess most will recognize):
{paraphrased out of my mind} "ROHOS is very hard to play, you can't even fire your MG on the move accurately and you have to rest your weapon to have some kind of accuracy"

The current average gamer has been dumbed down and just isn't able to see other games from a (more) objective angle.
edit: Makes sense everybody is mentioning CoD in the previews, for exactly that reason. The average gamer looks at RO2 and wonders what the game is in relation to their uber game called CoD. Makes sense journalists try to supply that relation

I think TWI should market the game as a game for "Real men". I think thats a best way to attract new players, cause if you tease them with that, CoD players will probably try harder to get past the learning curve. TWI are using too many carrots, is time to use the stick!

Ya...I dont know what a heck that learning curve is. Because i didnt
never found it.

I think games like Unreal Tournament were hard to master. Because
my reflex were not good enough for that. Allways sombody jumping
from nowhere and shooting in your face.

RO is game where you have time a lot of time to plan. And if you play
it like it was real, you will play well (okay not exactly because in real
war i would be sitting on bottom of some hole and not moving to anywhere. :D:D:D)
But anyways if you spend some seconds to thinking that i will run to that truck there,
go down check this and that corner and then enter to that building, you will be fine.
But if you just randomly run like chiken there. Ya then you can throw your keyboard to wall.

Suuuuuuure is Modern Germans being Modern Germans.
Only they and the Australians can take a game heavily focused on being as realistic as possible and dumb it down with green blood.

And why the hell did Chrome translate the article so bad that there is a sentence that says "The animations look woody." ? Damn it Google.

It means the animations are not the best, its a german saying that you move as if a tree would move ( lord of the rings anyone)

And I don't care at all:D
We all knew after the announcement of BF3 that it would be the prettiest girl in room (also the shallowest, but that's my speculative opinion:rolleyes:)

its a shame those animations are going to waste in BF3, since you are not immersed at all with HUD clutter. in RO2 it would be perfect immersion booster.

As long as the game has an average rating of 80%+ everything will be fine and word of HoS will be spread among gamers.

With CoD around (and being popular with everyone who doesn't have a rudimentary understanding of physics) I doubt that'll occur :(

Well what's the average rating on ROOST? I'd imagine it would fall somewhere above that.

[speculation] That would be because only hardcorier (nope, thats not a word:p) game sites know the game. These sites also like the game.

Maybe if more 'general' magazines and sites rated it it would be lower for the same reason ROHOS might get a lower average score in the press.

(Dutch magazine I was subscribed to never mentioned a single bit about RO1. Part of the reason why I heard about it last winter:eek:)
[/speculation]
