Generating MG ammo

As an MGer, is it still so that if you resupply another MGer that he gets ammo from u without your ammo count decreasing like it was in RO1?

Tried to find out myself but did not get the chance by now...

Yes a mg can reload another mg without loosing ammo.

Yes, I always found this hilarious that you can reload another mg while you are technically out of ammo since it doesn't take from your ammo supply.

Seems almost like an exploit so I never resupply a MG while I am playing the MG too.
